Lymphadenitis, due to typical or atypical , is a clinical condition frequently associated with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Differential diagnosis between benign and malignant causes may be a challenge for clinicians. In this regard, the role of positron emission tomography (PET) with F-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG) has still not been fully explored. We describe a case of 30-year-old male, infected by HIV, with mycobacterial lymphadenitis, in which FDG-PET and PET-derived parameters resulted useful for guiding diagnosis and monitoring the response to treatment.

Stringent sanitary standards are imperative for swine production, ensuring high biosecurity and safe meat. However, granulomatous lesions, often detected as "lymphadenitis" in slaughterhouses, lack routine laboratory examination, potentially overlooking tuberculosis among other etiologies. This study aimed to: (i) explore epidemiological variables linked to swine carcasses condemned due to "tuberculosis" or "lymphadenitis" in Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil in a retrospective survey; and (ii) evaluate the frequency of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in granulomatous lymphadenitis lesions.

Tuberculosis is a common occurrence in developing countries. Drug resistance, co-morbidities, and limited availability of new rapid tests such as the GeneXpert/MTB Rif assay make diagnosis and treatment of extrapulmonary tuberculosis burdensome. A cross-sectional study was carried out at Employees' State Insurance Corporation Medical College and Hospital, Faridabad, Haryana of patients treated for tubercular cervical lymphadenopathy from December 2021 to March 2023 in the department of ENT.
