Background: To assess the efficacy and safety of Orchid drug-coated balloon (DCB) for treatment of femoropopliteal (FP) artery in-stent restenosis (ISR) in Chinese patients.

Methods: The study is a prospective, single center, single-blinded, randomized controlled trial (RCT) that randomized (1:1) 74 patients to DCB group (N.=38) and PTA group (N.=36). The primary efficacy endpoint was primary patency of the target lesion at 12 months. Second efficacy endpoint included clinically-driven target-lesion revascularization (CD-TLR) and ABI change at 12 months. The primary safety endpoint included peri-operative death at 30 days, all-cause death, major amputation, and other major adverse events (MAEs) at 12 months. The primary functional endpoint included Walking Impairment Questionnaire (WIQ), quality-of-life measures (EQ-5D) and 6-minute walking test (6MWT).

Results: The DCB group had higher primary patency (87.9% vs. 51.6%; P=0.001) and lower rates of CD-TLR (6.1% vs. 35.5%; P=0.003) than the PTA group at 12 months. There were no peri-operative deaths, and no major amputations at 12 months in two groups. There were 1(2.6%) in the DCB group and 2 (5.6%) in the PTA group of all-cause deaths (P=0.524).

Conclusions: Results from the study showed superior treatment effect with Orchid DCB versus PTA for the treatment of FP ISR, and without an apparent difference in safety.

The synergistic application of calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) was investigated to mitigate cadmium (Cd) uptake and translocation in rice grown in Cd-contaminated soil. A pot experiment was conducted using different Ca:Mg molar ratios (Ca1:Mg2, Ca2:Mg1, and Ca1:Mg1) to evaluate their effect on Cd uptake. The results showed that the Ca1:Mg1 treatment achieved the highest reduction in grain Cd content (54.

Efficacy and Safety of Sirolimus-Coated Balloon Angioplasty in De Novo Lesions in Large Coronary Vessels: A Propensity Score-Matched Study.

Catheter Cardiovasc Interv

January 2025

Department of Cardio-Thoracic-Vascular Diseases, Foundation IRCCS Ca' Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, Milan, Italy.

Background: Evidence regarding drug-coated balloon (DCB)-only angioplasty in de novo lesions of large vessels is still limited and mainly focused on paclitaxel-coated balloon. We aimed to analyze the safety and efficacy of sirolimus-coated balloon (SCB)-only angioplasty in de novo lesions in large vessels compared to drug-eluting stent (DES).

Methods: In this retrospective, dual-center, case-control study, we enrolled all consecutive patients treated between January 2022 and January 2024 with SCB-only angioplasty in de novo lesion in large vessel (> 2.

Background: Because of the limitations in new-generation drug-eluting stents (DES), treatments advocating for non-stents with a drug-coated balloon (DCB) is now of great interest. Here, we conducted a meta-analysis to testify whether a DCB was more effective and safer than a DES in treating de novo coronary artery disease (CAD).

Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science to obtain high-quality trials comparing DCB with DES for the treatment of de novo CAD.

Douchiba (DCB) is a nutritious food rich in various functional components such as Tetramethylpyrazine (TTMP), and the strain fermentation is crucial for enhancing its quality. This work utilized S2-2 and S6-J1 with high TTMP production for fermentation of soybeans to optimize the pre-fermentation process and to evaluate the flavor quality of mature DCB. The concentration of TTMP in DCB fermented by mixed microbial (MG) was 2.

Background: Left main coronary bifurcation lesions account for 50% of left main coronary artery disease cases. Although a drug-coated balloon (DCB) has the advantages of immediate release of the drug to the arterial wall and no remaining struts, there is no conclusive evidence to support DCB use.

Methods & Results: We conducted a systematic review in compliance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) statement.
