Purpose: Left atrial thrombus or spontaneous echo contrast (LAT/SEC) are widely recognized as significant contributors to cardiogenic embolism in non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF). This study aimed to construct and validate an interpretable predictive model of LAT/SEC risk in NVAF patients using machine learning (ML) methods.
Methods: Electronic medical records (EMR) data of consecutive NVAF patients scheduled for catheter ablation at the First Hospital of Jilin University from October 1, 2022, to February 1, 2024, were analyzed.

The study aimed to evaluate the basic pharmacological effects of modified phenyl carbamic acid derivates with a basic part made of N-phenylpiperazine (compounds 6a, 6b, 6c, 6d) in Wistar rats. The compounds were evaluated for their ability to decrease the phenylephrine-induced contraction of the aortic strips of rats after repeated administration of the compounds and their ability to inhibit the positive chronotropic effect of isoproterenol on spontaneously beating rat atria. The ability to inhibit the vasoconstriction effect of phenylephrine was confirmed in all compounds in the range from 10.

Catheter ablation procedure for symptomatic atrial fibrillation is an established treatment. Cardiac tamponade is one of the several complications associated with atrial fibrillation ablation. We present the case of a 60-year-old male with a past medical history of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) on hemodialysis, hypotension on midodrine, atrial fibrillation status post-ablation a week prior, and a cerebrovascular accident who presented to the emergency department with complaints of weakness, nausea, vomiting, confusion and some syncopal episodes for the past few days.

To assess the efficacy and safety of "one-stop" procedures combining radiofrequency catheter ablation and left atrial appendage closure by guidance of intracardiac echocardiography(ICE) in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation. A retrospective cohort study was conducted on patients who underwent ICE-guided "one-stop" procedures at the Department of Cardiology, General Hospital of Northern Theater Command between December 2020 and January 2023.
