Background: Canadian stillbirth data are limited, and a significant proportion of pregnancies resulting in stillbirth have no attributable cause. The objective of this study was to characterize stillbirth case investigations and management at a tertiary care hospital in Ontario, Canada.

Objective: To carry out a systematic review of the available studies on COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) in neonates seen globally since the onset of the COVID-19 global pandemic in 2020. The paper also describes a premature baby with reverse transcription (RT)-PCR-positive COVID-19 seen at the Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, UK.

Introduction: Many countries, especially those from sub-Saharan Africa, are unlikely to reach the Millennium Development Goal for under-5 mortality reduction by 2015. This study aimed to identify the causes of mortality and associated modifiable health care factors for under-5 year-old children admitted to Onandjokwe Hospital, Namibia.

Method: A descriptive retrospective review of the medical records of all children under five years who died in the hospital for the period of 12 months during 2013, using two different structured questionnaires targeting perinatal deaths and post-perinatal deaths respectively.

Objective: Sudden unexpected early neonatal death (SUEND) in the first week of life shares features with sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI) but is not included as SUDI, which is limited to post-perinatal deaths. The aim of this study was to review SUEND autopsies performed in a single specialist centre over a 10-year period, (1996-2005).

Methods: Retrospective analysis of >1500 consecutively performed paediatric autopsies performed by paediatric pathologists at one centre conducted according to a standard protocol including ancillary investigations.
