The thermal reverse flow reactor is an effective technical equipment for dealing with ventilation air methane, which has been causing a significant greenhouse effect. An experimental study on the thermal oxidation of ventilation air methane in a thermal reverse flow reactor was conducted. A mixture of domestic gas and ambient air was used to simulate ventilation air methane in the experiments, and the methane conversion efficiency was analyzed based on the concentration of combustion products determined by gas chromatography equipment. In addition, the effects of the switching time, the inlet methane concentration, the flow rate, and heat extraction were studied. The experimental results show that the reverse flow reactor system can run under a wide range of operating conditions with autothermal operation and high methane conversion. In addition, this system can even work with methane concentrations as low as 0.30% in the autothermal operation mode without NO emission. Unlike previous studies, this study shows that the flow rate has little effect on the methane conversion rate in the cyclic steady state over a wide range of operating conditions. In addition, methane conversion and reaction zone change as the inlet methane concentration varies during the reaction process in the cyclic steady state. The combined optimization of operating parameters can effectively improve the stability of the reverse flow reactor system and methane conversion efficiency.

Macrophages in the tumor microenvironment (TME) regulated gastric cancer progression, but the mechanism of macrophage polarization in gastric cancer progression remained unclear. This study mainly explored the molecular mechanism of macrophage polarization in the tumor microenvironment and its impact on the progression of gastric cancer. KPNA2 and KPNB1 expressions in cancer tissues and adjacent non-cancerous tissues were quantified via RT-qPCR and western blot.

Single-atom catalysts (SACs), known for their high atomic utilization efficiency, are highly attractive for electrochemical CO conversion. Nevertheless, it is struggling to use a single active site to overcome the linear scaling relationship among intermediates. Herein, an isolated diatomic Ni-Mn dual-sites catalyst was anchored on nitrogenated carbon, which exhibits remarkable electrocatalytic performance towards CO reduction.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a life-threatening condition with high incidence and mortality rates. The current pharmacological interventions for TBI exhibit limited efficacy, underscoring the necessity to explore novel and effective therapeutic approaches to ameliorate its impact. Previous studies have indicated that transcranial pulsed current stimulation (tPCS) can improve neurofunctional deficits in patients by modulating brain neuroplasticity.

Consequently, melanoma cells must rapidly evolve to evade immune detection by simultaneously modulating cell-autonomous epigenetic mechanisms and tumor-microenvironment interactions. Angiogenesis has been implicated in this process; although an increase of vasculature initiates the immune response in normal tissue, solid tumors manage to somehow enhance blood flow while preventing immune cell infiltration.

UV-vis spectroscopy is a workhorse in analytical chemistry that finds application in life science, organic synthesis, and energy technologies like photocatalysis. In its traditional implementation with cuvettes, it requires sample volumes in the milliliter range. Here, we show how nanofluidic scattering spectroscopy (NSS), which measures visible light scattered from a single nanochannel in a spectrally resolved way, can reduce this sample volume to the attoliter range for solute concentrations in the mM regime, which corresponds to as few as 10 probed molecules.
