yeasts are generally found in the vaginal microbiota; however, disruption of the balance maintained by host factors and microorganisms results in vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). This study evaluated the antagonistic activity of vaginal spp. on to verify whether active compounds of spp. had antifungal and antivirulence activity. The antagonism assay showed that 15 out of 20 strains had an inhibitory effect on Biosurfactants displayed surface-tension-reducing activity, with the best value obtained for 1. ATCC 9595, ATCC 4356, and 11 produced biosurfactants that decreased adhesion and disrupted biofilm formation. The best results were obtained in the pre-incubation assay for 1 and 11. Overall, strains showed significant anti- activity, and their biosurfactants exhibited considerable anti-adhesion and antibiofilm activity against . To be considered safe for use in vivo, the safety of biosurfactant (BS) should be investigated using cytotoxicity assays.

Antimicrobial resistance poses a significant global health threat by reducing the effectiveness of conventional antibiotics, particularly against pathogens like Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). This study investigates the antimicrobial potential of rhizospheric soil bacteria from Prosopis cineraria (Sangri) in the Thar Desert. Bacterial strains isolated from these samples were observed to produce secondary metabolites, notably, Iturin A C-15 cyclic lipopeptide (SS1-3-P) which was extracted from strain Enterobacter cloacae SS1-3 and was purified and characterized using reverse-phase HPLC, ESI-LC/MS, Nile-Red Assay, and FT-IR analysis.

In exploring a growing demand for innovative approaches to tackle emerging and life threatening fungal diseases, we identified long-chain 4-aminoquinoline (4-AQ) derivatives as a new class of anti-virulence agents. For the first time, we demonstrated that 4-AQs effectively prevent filamentation of Candida albicans, a key virulence trait, under multiple triggering conditions. Selected 4-AQ derivatives inhibited filament formation in a zebrafish model of disseminated candidiasis at 1.
