Agonistic antibodies are powerful tools to dimerize receptors in the absence of ligand binding, but high-fidelity receptor activation requires that these antibodies accurately recapitulate the native dimeric state. Spangler employ a clever approach to select for antibodies that bind a specific IL-4Rα/γ heterodimeric complex in its native signaling conformation, leading to a monovalent "stapler," a single-chain variable fragment (scFv) that binds at the dimerization interface. This powerful approach can be further exploited for a variety of homo- or heterodimeric receptors to achieve signaling, especially in the absence of endogenous ligand.

Purpose: Prior work has found that "late talkers" (LTs) as a group continue to demonstrate lower language and reading outcomes compared to their typically developing (TD) peers even into young adulthood. Others identified that children diagnosed with developmental language disorder (DLD) show difficulties later with theory of mind (ToM) tasks and metaphor comprehension, but there is a shortage of research specifically investigating these advanced skills in LTs. The current study therefore compared language-related skills of former LTs with their TD peers at school age.

Eukaryotic mRNA synthesis was not so long ago thought of as a deterministic, sequential process in which transcriptional regulators and general transcription factors assemble in an orderly fashion into chromatin to, ultimately, activate RNA polymerase II. Advances in fluorescence microscopy techniques have revealed a much more complex scenario, wherein transcriptional regulators dynamically engage with chromatin in a more stochastic, probabilistic way.

Background: In Catalonia, infants <6 months old were eligible to receive nirsevimab, a novel monoclonal antibody against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). We aimed to analyze nirsevimab's effectiveness in hospital-related outcomes of the seasonal cohort (born during the RSV epidemic from October to January 2024) and compared them with the catch-up cohort (born from April to September 2023).
