Phytochemical investigation of the whole plant of Kunth led to the isolation and characterization of a butanolide, rosmarinosin B (), that was isolated from natural sources for the first time, a new butenolide, 5--acetyl bracteanolide A (), and a new apocarotenoid, 2-hydroxyisololiolide (), together with 25 known compounds (compounds - and -). The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by analysis of their spectroscopic data, including MS, 1D, and 2D NMR experiments, and comparison with literature data of known compounds. Furthermore, four butenolides - were synthesized as novel derivatives of bracteanolide A. The isolates and the synthesized derivatives were evaluated for their preliminary anti-inflammatory activity against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW 264.7 cells. Among them, the synthesized butenolide derivative -butyl bracteanolide A () showed enhanced NO inhibitory activity compared to the original compound, with an IC value of 4.32 ± 0.09 μg/mL.

(), one of the most common infectious pathogens in the world, can cause gastritis, digestive ulcers, and even gastric cancer. urease (HPU) is a distinctive virulence factor of that allows it to be distinguished from other pathogens. Dried ginger is a famous edible and medicinal herb that is commonly used to prevent and treat gastrointestinal tract-related diseases.

An innovative approach to ticks and insect pests management is necessary to mitigate the challenges posed by the indiscriminate use of chemical pesticides, which can lead to resistance development and environmental pollution. Despite their great potential, biological control agents have significant manufacturing, application, and stability limitations. Currently, using phytochemicals, biosynthesized nanoparticles, and bioagents to get rid of arthropods might be a good alternative that would make farmers less worried about residues and resistance.

Research Background: The use of plant extracts in the biological control of fungal plant diseases can reduce the use of fungicides and residues in food by effectively suppressing mycotoxigenic microorganisms. The focus of interest is therefore finding plant extracts that have antifungal properties and are not toxic to organisms, so that they can be used for the biological control of economically important phytopathogenic fungi such as . Species of the genus are considered economically important pathogenic fungi of numerous agricultural crops, which not only cause significant losses but also produce mycotoxins that reach consumers through food.

Background: Low temperatures disrupt nitrogen metabolism in tobacco, resulting in lower nicotine content in the leaves. 24-epibrassinolide (EBR) is a widely used plant growth regulator known for its roles in enhancing cold tolerance and nitrogen metabolism. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether EBR enhances leaf nicotine content under low temperature conditions during the mature stage of flue-cured tobacco.
