A serological survey from CDC revealed more than 10% of individuals in America probably resolving or past infection with SARS-CoV-2 at the end of 2020, which illustrated there were massive unconfirmed asymptomatic infected people by contrast with the reported cases numbers. Asymptomatic patients as one of the crucial reasons for the COVID-19 pandemic being tough to contain, estimating the number of unconfirmed ones including the active infected and having cured in this population, is of great guiding significance for formulating epidemic prevention and control policies. This paper proposes a varying coefficient Susceptible-Infected-Removed-Susceptible (vSIRS) model to obtain the time series data of the unconfirmed asymptomatic infected numbers.

We introduce a compartmental model SEIAHRV (Susceptible, Exposed, Infected, Asymptomatic, Hospitalized, Recovered, Vaccinated) with age structure for the spread of the SARAS-CoV virus. In order to model current different vaccines we use compartments for individuals vaccinated with one and two doses without vaccine failure and a compartment for vaccinated individual with vaccine failure. The model allows to consider any number of different vaccines with different efficacies and delays between doses.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a life-threatening respiratory infection caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome virus (SARS-CoV-2), a novel human coronavirus. COVID-19 was declared a pandemic by World Health Organization in March 2020 for its continuous and rapid spread worldwide. Rapidly emerging COVID-19 epicenters and mutants of concerns have created mammoth chaos in healthcare sectors across the globe.

Potyviruses, chaos or order?

Arch Virol Suppl

January 1993

Research Institute for Plant Protection (IPO-DLO), Wageningen, The Netherlands.

At first potyviruses were easily distinguished by biological and serological properties because only a few were known and information on their host ranges was limited. The first evidence of serological cross reaction between two of these viruses was reported in 1951 and was further corroborated for three obviously distinct members of the group in 1960. In 1968 attention was drawn to the fact that some legume and non-legume potyviruses have much wider host ranges than previously known and that within the potyvirus group there is as much biological variation within viruses and overlap between viruses as there is in serology.
