The influence of fear of re-injury that this variable has on recovery outcomes following sports-related concussion remains unknown. We examined changes in fear of re-injury throughout concussion recovery, and compared changes in neurocognitive, symptom, vestibular/ocular motor, and recovery time outcomes between concussed adolescent athletes who endorsed high and low fear of re-injury. Individuals with high fear of re-injury were more symptomatic and more likely to exhibit vestibular/ocular motor symptoms over clinical cutoffs than those with low fear of re-injury. Recovery time was not significantly different between the groups. These findings may help explain performance on more subjective concussion assessments.

Background: There are no reports on home-based physiotherapy after femoral shaft re-fractures in children. Here we report a case involving a child who sustained a femoral shaft re-fracture and returned to kindergarten after 2 months of home-based physiotherapy.
Case: A 4-year-old girl presented at an emergency hospital with severe pain in the right lower limb and the inability to walk after falling at home, 15 days after discharge following treatment of a right femoral shaft fracture at the same hospital.

Whilst wound repair in severe burns has received substantial research attention, non-severe burns (<20 % total body surface area) remain relatively understudied, despite causing considerable physiological impact and constituting most of the hospital admissions for burns. Early prediction of healing outcomes would decrease financial and patient burden, and aid in preventing long-term complications from poor wound healing. Lipids have been implicated in inflammation and tissue repair and may play essential roles in burn wound healing.
