Low-potency corticosteroid betamethasone valerate and vitamin-A tazarotene are used in combination for effective treatment of psoriasis. There is no robust high-performance liquid chromatography analytical technique available for simultaneous estimation of betamethasone valerate and tazarotene in conventional and nanocarriers based formulations. A simple, accurate, robust isocratic high-performance liquid chromatography method was developed for simultaneous estimation of betamethasone valerate and tazarotene in topical pharmaceutical formulations. The developed method was validated as per the regulatory guidelines. The validated method was linear over the concentration range of 150-6000 ng/mL (r > 0.999) at 239 nm wavelength. Limits of detection and quantification of two analytes were 50 and 150 ng/mL, respectively. The %relative standard deviation for intraday and interday precision was less than 2%. The method was also evaluated in the presence of forced degradation conditions. The developed method was successfully applied for in vitro and ex vivo drug release studies of in-house designed nanoformulations.

Acute radiation dermatitis (ARD) is a prevalent adverse effect of radiotherapy in patients with breast cancer, and there is a lack of high-quality data regarding its prevention and management. This study employs a systematic and iterative process to compile the perspectives of Canadian radiation oncology, nursing, and dermatology experts, aiming to establish consensus-based recommendations for the prevention and management of ARD in breast cancer patients. A modified Delphi consensus was conducted with the participation of 19 experts from across Canada.

Objective: This study evaluates the physicochemical compatibility of six active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) - 17-a-estradiol, betamethasone, finasteride, melatonin, prednicarbate, and spironolactone - in TrichoFoam™, a foaming vehicle designed for personalized alopecia treatments.
Background: Alopecia, a condition impacting around 2% of the global population, can benefit from more effective and patient-friendly treatments. TrichoFoam™ represents a personalized medicine approach that utilizes a foam base to enhance the delivery and efficacy of topical treatments.

Erythema papulatum centrifugum (EPC), also known as erythema papulosa semicircularis recidivans, is a rare dermatological condition characterized by single or multiple annular or semi-annular centrifugally growing lesions surrounded by tiny erythematous papules typically observed on the trunk. EPC is prevalent, particularly in Japan and China, although only a few cases have been reported outside Asia. Herein, we present the case of a 47-year-old female from Thailand who experienced a pruritic annular erythematous rash on her right arm for two months.

Steroid hormone compounds present challenges in the simultaneous detection of total residual hormones owing to their analogous structures and diverse types. In this study, we established a rapid and high-throughput continuous online method based on solid phase extraction (SPE) coupled with ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) for the simultaneous determination of 61 hormone components, including 48 glucocorticoids, 1 mineralocorticoid, 4 androgens, and 8 progesterones, in water.
