Purpose: Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) is a surgical intervention that is still performed in large numbers worldwide and has severe effects in terms of both obstetric and sexual consequences. Due to the increase in immigration, it has become more frequent in many countries. This study aims to compare the labor performance, complications, and postpartum sexual function of Type 3 Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) pregnant women undergoing deinfibulation with Type 3 FGM/C patients without deinfibulation.

Background: Hyperoxia-induced brain injury is a severe neurological complication that is often accompanied by adverse long-term prognosis. The pathogenesis of hyperoxia-induced brain injury is highly complex, with neuroinflammation playing a crucial role. The activation of the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome, which plays a pivotal role in regulating and amplifying the inflammatory response, is the pathological core of hyperoxia-induced brain injury.

Hypertension (HT) is a prevalent medical condition showing an increasing incidence rate in various populations over recent years. Long-term hypertension increases the risk of the occurrence of hypertensive nephropathy (HTN), which is also a health-threatening disorder. Given that very little is known about the pathogenesis of HTN, this study was designed to identify disease biomarkers, which enable early diagnosis of the disease, through the utilization of high-throughput untargeted metabolomics strategies.

Maternal nutrition during pregnancy plays a pivotal role in influencing both maternal and fetal health, impacting neonatal anthropometric outcomes and long-term disease susceptibility. An advanced maternal age (AMA ≥ 35 years) has been linked to increased risks of obstetric complications and adverse neonatal outcomes, yet its specific nutritional profile remains underexplored. : This study aimed to evaluate the nutrient and polyphenol intakes of women at an AMA compared to those of a younger control group and to investigate associations with neonatal anthropometric measures.
