Pollution by atmospheric particulate matter (PM) is a serious threat to human health, and traditional window screens are unable to intercept fine particles. Therefore, it is urgent to develop anti-haze window screens to effectively protect the public. We prepared a polyurethane/silicon nitride (PU/SiN) electret nanofiber membrane with a minimum diameter (350 nm) and narrower diameter distribution than those of PU-Boehmite, PU-SiO, and PU-TiO membranes by electrospinning. The PU-SiN fiber membrane has good mechanical properties with stress of 18.05 MPa and strain of 170%. Moreover, PU/SiN exhibits a maximum current peak (2.63 pA) at 90 °C. Importantly, PU/SiN membranes applied to window screens still maintain high filtration efficiency (79.36%) and low resistance (25 Pa) to air flow at a low areal density of 1.22 g/m. Furthermore, they show good light transmittance (40%) and air permeability (46.42 mm s). Therefore, PU/SiN electret nanofiber window screens have broad application prospects.

Pulmonary sequestration is a rare pulmonary malformation, typically characterized by asymptomatic presentation or recurrent pulmonary infections, with chest pain and hemothorax being exceedingly rare occurrences. The rupture and hemorrhage of maternal pulmonary sequestration during pregnancy pose a life-threatening condition that is challenging to diagnose. We present a case of a 37-year-old pregnant woman in her third trimester who presented with acute progressive hemothorax, a complication arising from maternal pulmonary sequestration.

Neonatal health is dependent on early risk stratification, diagnosis, and timely management of potentially devastating conditions, particularly in the setting of prematurity. Many of these conditions are poorly predicted in real-time by clinical data and current diagnostics. Umbilical cord blood may represent a novel source of molecular signatures that provides a window into the state of the fetus at birth.

Large Language Models (LLMs) have shown success in predicting neural signals associated with narrative processing, but their approach to integrating context over large timescales differs fundamentally from that of the human brain. In this study, we show how the brain, unlike LLMs that process large text windows in parallel, integrates short-term and long-term contextual information through an incremental mechanism. Using fMRI data from 219 participants listening to spoken narratives, we first demonstrate that LLMs predict brain activity effectively only when using short contextual windows of up to a few dozen words.

Purpose: Concurrent electroencephalography (EEG) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) have been used to assist in the presurgical localization of seizure foci in people with epilepsy. Our study aimed to examine the clinical feasibility of an optimized concurrent EEG-fMRI protocol.
Methods: The optimized protocol employed a fast-fMRI sequence (sampling rate = 10 Hz) with a spare arrangement, which allowed a time window of 1.

Background: Frailty is an important prognostic indicator in older women with breast cancer. The Faurot frailty index, a validated claims-based frailty proxy measure, uses healthcare billing codes during a user-specified ascertainment window to predict frailty. We assessed how the duration of frailty ascertainment affected the ability of the Faurot frailty index to predict one-year mortality in women with stage I-II breast cancer.
