A 208 W all-solid-state modulated-longitudinal-mode quasi-continuous-wave sodium guide star (SGS) laser was developed by sum-frequency of a 1064 nm laser and a 1319 nm laser. The laser contained two spectral lines separated by 1.72 GHz for re-pumping the sodium atoms. To suppress absorption saturation effect of the sodium atoms induced by the high light intensity, we used a white noise generator to modulate the 1064 nm single frequency seed laser in the frequency domain. The line width of the modulated-longitudinal-mode 589 nm laser was maximally broadened to 0.74 GHz compared to the initial line width of ~0.30 GHz. A bright SGS with photon return flux of 56800 photons/s/cm during the pulse length was obtained.

Safety concerns of traditional liquid electrolytes, especially when paired with lithium (Li) metal anodes, have stimulated research of solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) to exploit the superior thermal and mechanical properties of polymers. Polyphosphazenes are primarily known for their use as flame retardant materials and have demonstrated high Li-ion conductivity owing to their highly flexible P = N backbone which promotes Li-ion conduction via inter- and intrachain hopping along the polymer backbone. While polyphosphazenes are largely unexplored as SPEs in the literature, a few existing examples showed promising ionic conductivity.

High-power all-solid-state continuous-wave (CW) single-frequency laser with high linear polarization is a significant source for quantum optics and precision measurement. In this Letter, a high-power linearly polarized CW single-frequency laser based on the single-crystal fiber (SCF) master-oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) is presented, in which a homemade 140 W low-noise CW single-frequency laser and a Nd:YAG SCF are firstly employed as the seed laser and the medium of the MOPA, respectively. The mode-matching between the pump laser propagated with waveguide form and the freely propagated seed laser is optimized by considering the influence of the degradations of the polarization and the beam quality.

Structural damage of Ni-rich layered oxide cathodes such as LiNiCoMnO (NCM811) and serious interfacial side reactions and physical contact failures with sulfide electrolytes (SEs) are the main obstacles restricting ≥4.6 V high-voltage cyclability of all-solid-state lithium batteries (ASSLBs). To tackle this constraint, here, a modified NCM811 with LiPO coating and B/P co-doping using inexpensive BPO as raw materials via the one-step in situ synthesis process is presented.

Herein, we report the effect of using nanoparticles of LiFePO on the electrochemical properties of all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) with a solid electrolyte. LiFePO (LFP) cathode materials are promising cathode materials in polymer-based composite solid electrolytes because of their limited electrochemical window range. However, LFP cathodes exhibit poor electric conductivity and sluggish lithium ion diffusion.
