Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common neuropathy in the hand which presented with pain and paresthesia in the hands and the wrists. The aim of our study was evaluated clinical symptoms of patients with different severity of CTS. This study is a cross-sectional study was performed on 40 patients referred to Emam khomeyni Hospital in Tehran from 2017 to late 2019 with symptoms of CTS and have been diagnosed with a definite diagnosis. A positive significant correlation was between severity of CTS and age, and reverse significant correlation was between severity of CTS with duration of symptoms. There were significant relationships between severity of CTS and shaking or ringing the hands symptoms, weakness or atrophy of the flexion test and reverse phalen test (P < 0.05). Clinical symptoms of CTS can be diagnosing different severity of disease, so considering of symptoms can plays a predominant role in the diagnosis of the disease.

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) results from median nerve compression and may lead to significant pain. Surgical management through release is the gold standard approach for severe CTS patients. Gabapentin is used as an analgesic drug, but data on its postoperative effects on pain assessment and safety measures are unclear.

This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram based on lymphocyte subtyping and clinical factors for the early and rapid prediction of Intra-abdominal candidiasis (IAC) in septic patients. A prospective cohort study of 633 consecutive patients diagnosed with sepsis and intra-abdominal infection (IAI) was performed. We assessed the clinical characteristics and lymphocyte subsets at the onset of IAI.

Objectives: To investigate the association of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) severity with cardiometabolic and inflammatory markers independently of the adiposity levels; and to explore the role of cardiorespiratory fitness in these associations in children with overweight/obesity.
Methods: A total of 109 children aged 8-11 years with overweight/obesity were included in this cross-sectional study. SDB was assessed using a scale of the reduce version of the Paediatric Sleep Questionnaire.

Introduction: This study sought to investigate the impact of the area deprivation index (ADI) on the treatment timeline from carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) to carpal tunnel release (CTR). We hypothesize that increased social deprivation will correlate with increased time between care milestones from presentation to surgery.
Methods: This is a retrospective review of patients diagnosed with CTS who underwent CTR at a single academic institution.

Quantifying pleural effusion change on chest CT is important for evaluating disease severity and treatment response. The purpose of this study was to assess the accuracy of artificial intelligence (AI)-based volume quantification of pleural effusion change on CT images, using the volume of drained fluid as the reference standard. Seventy-nine participants (mean age, 65 ± [SD] 13 years; 47 male) undergoing thoracentesis were prospectively enrolled from October 2021 to September 2023.
