The ASMBS recommends that patients should be provided with educational materials to improve informed consent about bariatric surgery. Massive online open courses (MOOCs) are learning sources which are free, online, and available to people in remote situations. A French language MOOC regarding preparation for obesity surgery targets patients, as well as HCP, and people curious about this treatment. The patients' knowledge and skills after completion of the 5-week learning sessions (evaluated with semi-direct interviews) improved. Soft skills such as feeling empowered to ask questions to their HCP and explaining their plan to their relatives improved. This study suggests that MOOC can be a resource to improve knowledge and soft skills in patients for a better consent to surgery and follow-up.

Background/objectives: High levels of emotional intelligence (EI) and resilience in primary care physicians (PCPs) can help them communicate better with patients, build stronger relationships with colleagues, and foster a positive and collaborative workplace. However, studies have indicated that primary care physicians (PCPs) often do not focus enough on developing these skills. Consequently, the purpose of this mixed methods study was to evaluate the effectiveness of an experiential online training (EOT) intervention in enhancing the EI and resilience of PCPs who treat patients with chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs).

Curated undergraduate research experiences have been widely used at colleges and universities for decades to build student interest, technical preparation, and confidence in the pursuit of scientific careers. Educators often employ standardized survey instruments to evaluate learning outcomes for research experiences, but many of these assessments consider only technical skill development and career interests and are not rooted in discrete pedagogical theories. As higher education aims to create inclusive and equitable learning experiences for students, we argue that pedagogical assessment tools for undergraduate research experiences need to expand to consider outcomes such as increased science literacy, confidence in relational "soft" skills, and a sense of belonging to a community that values scientific inquiry.

Monitoring the body condition of dairy cows is essential for ensuring their health and productivity, but traditional BCS methods-relying on visual or tactile assessments by skilled personnel-are subjective, labor-intensive, and impractical for large-scale farms. To overcome these limitations, we present BCS-YOLO, a lightweight and automated BCS framework built on YOLOv8, which enables consistent, accurate scoring under complex conditions with minimal computational resources. BCS-YOLO integrates the Star-EMA module and the Star Shared Lightweight Detection Head (SSLDH) to enhance the detection accuracy and reduce model complexity.
