The selective separation of ethanol/acetonitrile by porous materials has rarely been observed owing to their similar physicochemical properties. In this work, we report a new coordination network, [Cu(4-pmntd)(opd)](4-pmntd = ,'-bis(4-pyridymethy)naphthalene diimide, opd = disodium 1,2-benzenedicarboxylate), which exhibits selective separation of ethanol over acetonitrile. The weak coordination bonds formed by unsaturated Cu sites and hydroxyl groups are the key to such performance.

A fast and simple method using Gas Chromatography combined with Flame Ionization Detection (GC-FID) was developed for the determination of ethanol, acetonitrile, dibromomethane, dimethylaminoethanol, and dimethyl sulfoxide in [F]fluorocholine. The combination of fractional factorial design, Doehlert design, and Desirability function was used to evaluate the operational parameters and to establish the best working condition. The validation results revealed that the proposed method has good recovery (85.

An optimization approach based on full factorial design was employed for developing an HPLC-UV method for simultaneous determination of a quaternary mixture used for the treatment of symptoms related to common cold and COVID-19. The quaternary mixture is composed of paracetamol, levocetirizine dihydrochloride, phenylephrine hydrochloride and ambroxol hydrochloride. The developed technique is a green, fast and simple method that uses isocratic elution of mobile phase consisting of 20:5:75 (v/v) of ethanol: acetonitrile: 2.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and phthalate esters (PAEs) are internationally recognized as priority pollutants; hence, it is important to monitor their concentrations in the environment. However, the low concentrations of PAHs and PAEs in surface water make the direct and sensitive determination of these compounds by instrumental methods difficult. Therefore, the development of an accurate and rapid sample pretreating method for the determination of PAHs and PAEs in water has always been the goal of environmental scientists.
