A molecular anion of tris(8-hydroxyquinolinato)aluminum (Alq) was generated by a pulsed discharge to the solid sample under supersonic expansion and its photoelectron spectrum was recorded after mass selection. The vertical detachment energy of Alq and the adiabatic electron affinity of Alq were determined to be 1.24 ± 0.01 and 0.89 ± 0.04 eV, respectively. By using these energies determined for monomeric Alq, the reorganization energy for the intermolecular electron transport in bulk Alq was estimated to be 0.70 ± 0.08 eV.

Alternating- and direct-current (ADC) bipolar electropolymerization (EP) offers an efficient and scalable approach for the lateral synthesis of conjugated macromolecules, enabling the simultaneous polymerization and deposition of large conducting polymer films with intriguing fractal-like ramified topographies onto arbitrary insulating substrates under remote control. In this study, we presented the remote synthesis of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT):anion sensing films on a plastic substrate, aimed at their use in flexible nitrogen dioxide (NO) gas sensors. Notably, the PEDOT:ClO films exhibited excellent gas-sensing characteristics, with a sensitivity of 54.

This study analyzed dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV) inhibitory peptides from Tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum) protein hydrolysates, known for managing chronic diseases. Simulated gastrointestinal digestion enhanced the inhibitory activity of DPP-IV. Using anion-exchange resin DEAE-52, reverse high-performance liquid chromatography, and LC-MS/MS, eight novel peptides were identified.

Molecular dynamics simulations of the structure and dynamics in mixtures of ionic liquids and alcohols.

Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Nano and Bio Science and Technology, Persian Gulf University, Bushehr 75168, Iran.

Molecular dynamics simulations were conducted on mixtures of ionic liquids (ILs) and alcohols, specifically methanol, ethanol, and 1-propanol. Two different ILs, [Mmim][MeSO] and [Bmim][MeSO], were used with varying alcohol mole fractions to investigate the impact of alkyl chain length of cations, alcohol types, and alcohol concentrations on different structural and dynamic properties. Unique characteristics of the ILs were observed due to the varying polarity of solvents and the creation of diverse local environments surrounding the ILs.

Ru(II)-Based Multitopic Hosts for Fullerene Binding: Impact of the Anion in the Recognition Process.

The development of multitopic hosts for fullerene recognition based on nonplanar corannulene (CH) structures presents challenges, primarily due to the requirement for synergistic interactions with multiple units of this polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon. Moreover, increasing the number of corannulene groups in a single chemical structure while avoiding the cost of increasing flexibility has been scarcely explored. Herein, we report the synthesis of a family of multitopic Ru(II)-polypyridyl complexes bearing up to six units of corannulene arranged by pairs, offering a total of three molecular tweezers.
