Primary inferior vena cava (IVC) tumors are rare. Most are leiomyosarcomas. The prognosis is poor with those involving and superior to the hepatic veins faring worse than those isolated within the retrohepatic cava.

Introduction: Invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) remains a pediatric health challenge despite national vaccination efforts in Colombia. We described the socio-demographic, epidemiological, and clinical characteristics of children (<18 years of age) with IPD at a pediatric reference center in Bolívar, Colombia.
Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study of all pediatric patients (under 18 years of age) diagnosed with IPD between 2016 and 2023.

An autosomal recessively inherited noninflammatory arthropathy known as camptodactyly, arthropathy, coxa vara, and pericarditis (CACP) syndrome was discovered in 1999. It is distinguished by synoviocyte hyperplasia and subcapsular fibrosis of the synovial capsule, which results in a shortage of lubricin production. The resulting lack of joint lubrication induces increased mechanical stress, causing progressive deformities that become evident with weight-bearing and heightened joint activity.

A 52-year-old gentleman presented with symptoms of breathlessness and type 1 respiratory failure. His CT pulmonary angiogram showed a heterogenous, oval-shaped lesion between the heart and diaphragm with a right atrial (RA) filling defect, pericardial thickening and pulmonary metastasis. An RA debulking salvage operation confirmed this to be a pericardial tumour and further cytology and immunohistochemistry testing confirmed a primary synovial sarcoma.
