Background: Neurovascular Coupling is the cerebral mechanism responsible for linking neuronal activity, cerebral metabolism and regional cerebral blood flow (CBF). The direct relation between functional brain activity during active, passive and motor imagery paradigms and changes in CBF has been widely investigated using different techniques. However, CBF changes have not been investigated beat by beat during robot assisted passive movement (PM) and motor imagery (MI) of lower limb, yet.
Materials And Methods: We investigated beat-to-beat hemodynamic changes in 8 healthy subjects using TCD during MI and robot-assisted PM of lower limb.
Results: The results showed that MI and PM induce a significant CBFv increase and that PM and MI lead to similar hemodynamic changes in healthy subjects.
Conclusions: The findings may be useful to better understand the variation of CBFv in brain pathology and to develop more specific and efficient rehabilitation therapy protocols in neurological diseases, such as stroke.

Purpose: We aimed to determine fetal liver perfusion in PGDM and GDM pregnancies and to assess the relation of ductus venosus (DV) shunt fraction with adverse pregnancy outcomes.
Methods: We conducted a prospective longitudinal observational study including 188 pregnant women: group I-patients with pregestational DM (PGDM, n = 86), group II-patients with gestational DM (GDM, n = 44), group III-control (n = 58). The patients included in the study underwent ultrasound examination at 30-40 weeks of pregnancy.
There remains a scarcity of studies to evaluate the treatment effect of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) offers a cost-effective method to measure cerebral hemodynamics. This study used fNIRS to evaluate the effect of ECT in patients suffering from schizophrenia or bipolar disorder (manic phase).

Background: Many studies, for example, on taste-visual dissonance, have shown that the influence of the visual cortex on taste sensation is enormous. The presented work aims to investigate, using fNIRS, whether a taste stimulus, in this case, the taste of bitter, also causes stimulation of the visual cortex in the fNIRS study.
Methods: fNIRS was used to examine 51 participants (204 examinations, 9996 records), collecting signals from the left hemisphere.
