In situ growth of Co3O4 nanocubes on the surface of Co-MOF is an effective way to adjust the surface electron structure of electrocatalysts and increase extra active sites for the OER, the HER and overall water splitting. A facile one-pot hydrothermal method can be extended to the preparation of other metal oxide/hydroxide@MOF composites.

A Simple One-Pot Method for the Synthesis of BiFeO/BiFeO Heterojunction for High-Performance Photocatalytic Degradation Applications.

Int J Mol Sci

December 2024

Joint International Research Laboratory of Information Display and Visualization, School of Electronic Science and Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing 210096, China.

This study presents a facile one-pot synthesis method to fabricate BiFeO-BiFeO-BiO heterojunction photocatalysts with controllable compositions and pure phases. Three different binary heterojunctions (BiFeO/BiFeO, BiFeO/BiO, and BiFeO/BiO) and a ternary BiFeO/BiFeO/BiO heterojunction were formed, all exhibiting significantly enhanced photocatalytic performance for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) and phenol under visible light irradiation, outperforming the individual compositions. Notably, the BiFeO/BiFeO heterojunction achieved the highest degradation efficiency (93.

State Key Laboratory of New Textile Materials and Advanced Processing Technologies, School of Textile Science and Engineering, Wuhan Textile University, Wuhan 430200, China. Electronic address:

Conductive hydrogel has drawn great concern in wearable sensors, human-machine interfaces, artificial intelligence (AI), health monitoring, et al. But it still remains challenge to develop hydrogel through facile and sustainable methods. In this work, a conductive, flexible, bendable and self-healing hydrogel (PBCM) composed of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), borax, cellulose microfibers (CMFs) and MXene nanosheets was fabricated by a simple and efficient strategy.

Facile Synthesis of Oxazolidinones as Potential Antibacterial Agents.

An efficient microwave-assisted synthesis route for novel oxazolidinone analogues has been developed. The general synthesis of these compounds began with an L-proline-mediated three-component Mannich reaction between commercially available 3-fluoro-4-morpholinoaniline, aqueous formaldehyde and α-hydroxyacetone. This was followed by a one-step cyclisation to form the core structure of oxazolidinone antibiotics which was subsequently derivatized.

Facile Fabrication of Monodisperse Vinyl Hybrid Core-Shell Silica Microsphere with Short Range Radial Channel in bi-phase System.

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Synthetic and Natural Functional Molecule Chemistry of Ministry of Education, College of Chemistry & Materials Science, Northwest University, Xi'an, 710127, China.

The development of monodisperse hybrid silica microspheres with highly regular pore structure and uniform distribution of functional groups have significant value in the biomolecular separation field. In this work, the short range ordered pore channels are precisely constructed onto the non-porous silica microsphere surface by a bi-phase assembly method, and the cylindrical silica channel introduced a plethora of vinyl groups by "one-pot" co-condensation to form vinyl hybrid silica shell. As hydrophilic interaction chromatography (HILIC) stationary phase, the vinyl hybrid core-shell silica microsphere is simply modified with zwitterion glutathione (SiO@SiO-GSH), in which the HILIC enrichment process is significantly shortened due to its specific porous characteristics.

Here we present a simple gold-catalyzed one-pot reaction of easily available diarylbutadiynes, with trimethoxybenzene as solvent and reactant to synthesize 4,6,8-trimethoxyazulenes. The methoxy substituents, which render the azulene very electron-rich, enable a change of azulenes typical regioselectivity for electrophilic substitutions, which enables facile electrophilic 2-substitution with iodine, bromine, chlorine, selenium or sulfur. Especially the 2-haloazulenes which can usually only be obtained through lengthy multistep syntheses are valuable building blocks for the synthesis of 2-substituted azulene derivatives.
