In a double-blind clinical trial a new, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent with analgesic properties, Fenbufen, was compared to acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) and placebo. Six hundred (600) out-patients, following surgical removal of an impacted lower wisdom tooth, were divided into three groups and randomly given either Fenbufen (500 mg capsules), ASA (750 mg capsules), or placebo. One capsule was taken immediately after the surgical procedure, followed by another capsule every 6 hours. The duration of treatment was 24 hours. Thus, a total of 4 capsules were taken. Self-evaluation forms were provided to the patients and were returned to the investigators the following day. The results were statistically analyzed. Both Fenbufen and ASA were statistically superior (p less than or equal to 0.01) to placebo in relieving pain. A comparison of the Fenbufen and ASA groups demonstrated a statistically significant (p less than or equal to 0.05) superiority for Fenbufen in relieving pain. Also sleep was less disturbed in the Fenbufen group. Side-effects reported were few, minor in character, and fewer in number in the Fenbufen group.

The presence of a chiral or chirally perturbed chromophore in the molecule under investigation is a fundamental requirement for the appearance of a circular dichroism (CD) spectrum. For native and for most of the substituted cyclodextrins, this condition is not applicable, because although chiral, cyclodextrins lack a chromophore group and therefore have no characteristic CD spectra over 220 nm. The reason this method can be used is that if the guest molecule has a chromophore group and this is in the right proximity to the cyclodextrin, it becomes chirally perturbed.

Here, a previously established molecular convolution methodology was used to synthesize catalysts for Suzuki-Miyaura coupling under flow conditions by blending convoluted polymeric palladium catalysts (prepared from copolymers of 4-vinylpyridine and 4-tert-butylstyrene) and crosslinked polymeric auxiliary materials (prepared from copolymers of divinylbenzene and 4-tert-butylstyrene). The optimal catalyst exhibited high performance and durability and allowed numerous biaryl products such as liquid-crystalline materials, organic electroluminescent materials, and pharmaceuticals to be continuously synthesized with turnover frequencies of up to 238 h .

Aim: In the present study, we aimed to investigate the effects of Fenbufen treatment on the SAP model induced by caerulein and lipopolysaccharide.
Background: Severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) is an extremely dangerous disease with high mortality, which is associated with inflammatory response and acinar cell death. The caspase family plays an important role in cell death, such as caspase-1 and caspase-11 in pyroptosis.

The stability of host-guest complexes of two NSAID drugs with similar physicochemical properties, fenbufen and fenoprofen, was investigated by comparing induced circular dichroism and H nuclear magnetic resonance methods using eight cyclodextrins of different degrees of substitution and isomeric purity as guest compounds. These cyclodextrins include native β-cyclodextrin (BCyD), 2,6-dimethyl-β-cyclodextrin 50 (DIMEB50), 80 (DIMEB80) and 95% (DIMEB95) isomerically pure versions, low-methylated CRYSMEB, randomly methylated β-cyclodextrin (RAMEB) and 4.5 and 6.

Studies have been actively conducted to ensure that gadolinium-based contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are accompanied by various biological functions. A new example is the anti-inflammatory theragnostic MRI agent to target inflammatory mediators for imaging diagnosis and to treat inflammatory diseases simultaneously. We designed, synthesized, and characterized a Gd complex of 1,4,7-tris(carboxymethylaza) cyclododecane-10-azaacetylamide (DO3A) conjugated with a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exerts the innate therapeutic effect of NSAIDs and is also applicable in MRI diagnostics.
