We describe a patient with ANCA (antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies) associated vasculitis and acute-on-chronic renal failure. He had initially presented with severe pulmonary hemorrhage and anuric renal failure and improved rapidly with immunosuppressive therapy. Repeat renal biopsy revealed candida interstitial nephritis. Candida was also detected in bronchoalveolar lavage. Kidney function improved with long-term antifungal therapy. This report adds induction therapy for ANCA vasculitis to the conditions where invasive candidal infections including nephritis need to be considered.

Introduction: This case study presents a rare and fatal instance of Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis (TEN) and Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms (DRESS) syndrome in a 51-year-old male patient diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).

Case Presentation: The patient was initially treated with sulfasalazine, leflunomide, and hydroxychloroquine, following which he developed a rash, fever, and loose stools. Drug allergy was suspected, and the antirheumatic medications were withdrawn, following which, the patient improved.

We describe a 54-year-old man with type 2 diabetes mellitus, ischemic myopathy, pulmonary hypertension, and end-stage renal disease who was admitted for heart failure and listed for a dual cardiac-renal transplantation. Extensive calcification in the iliac arteries prevented clamping. Proximal endovascular balloon control of the left iliac artery was achieved using contralateral access; distal control was established by passing a Fogarty catheter distally through an iliac arteriotomy, later used for anastomosis of the cadaveric conduit.

The intertwined nature of cardiac and renal failure, where dysfunction in one organ predicts a poor outcome in the other, has long driven the interest in uncovering the exact molecular links between the two. Elucidating the mechanisms driving Cardiorenal Syndrome (CRS) will enable the development of targeted therapies that disrupt this detrimental cycle, potentially improving outcomes for patients. A recent study by Chatterjee .

Renal interstitial fibrosis (RIF) is a common pathway in chronic kidney disease (CKD) that ultimately leads to end-stage renal failure, worsening both glomerulosclerosis and interstitial fibrosis. Ten percent of the adult population in the world suffers from CKD, and as the ageing population continues to rise, it is increasingly regarded as a global threat-a silent epidemic. CKD has been discovered to be closely associated with both long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) and microRNAs (miRNAs), while the precise molecular processes behind this relationship are still unclear.

Background: Recent literature indicates that COVID-19 infection is a negative predictor of good outcomes following elective orthopedic surgery. However, the ideal timing of surgery after infection is unclear. The purpose of this study was to compare the rates of post-operative complications between those who underwent elective orthopedic surgery <50 days and >50 days after COVID-19 infection.
