Objective: Dual-layer spectral detector CT (DLCT) has several advantages in clinical practice, this study aims to reveal the clinical applications of DLCT in digestive system diseases.
Materials And Methods: We searched PubMed and Cochrane Reviews for articles published from January 1, 2010 to May 31, 2024, using the terms "dual-layer spectral detector CT" or "dual-layer CT" combined with "hepatic fat" or "hepatic fibrosis" "hepatocellular carcinoma" or "pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma" or "pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors" or "gastric cancer" or "colorectal cancer" or "Crohn's disease" or "bowel ischemia" or "acute abdominal conditions".
Results: DLCT consists of a top layer sensitive to lower-energy photons and a bottom layer sensitive to higher-energy photons.

Purpose Of Review: Despite advances in our radiological, histological and microbiological armamentarium, distinguishing between Crohn's disease (CD) and intestinal tuberculosis (ITB), especially in a TB endemic country, continues to be a challenging exercise in a significant number of patients. This review aims to summarize current available evidence on novel diagnostic techniques which have a potential to fill the gap in our knowledge of differentiating between ITB and CD.
Recent Findings: Both ITB and CD are associated with altered host immune responses, and detection of these altered innate and adaptive immune cells has potential to distinguish ITB from CD.

Background: Virtual non-calcium (VNCa) imaging based on dual-energy computed tomography (CT) plays an increasingly important role in diagnosing spinal diseases. However, the utility of VNCa technology in the measurement of vertebral bone mineral density (BMD) is limited, especially the VNCa CT value at multiple calcium suppression levels and the slope of VNCa curve. This retrospective cross-sectional study aimed to explore the correlation between vertebral BMD and new VNCa parameters from dual-layer spectral detector CT.

Aim: To investigate the value of radiological features and energy spectrum quantitative parameters in the differential diagnosis of Crohn's disease (CD), ulcerative colitis (UC), and intestinal tuberculosis (ITB) by dual-layer spectral detector computed tomography (CT) enterography (CTE).
Materials And Methods: Clinical and CTE data were collected from 182 patients with CD, 29 with UC, and 51 with ITB. CT images were obtained at the enteric phases and portal phases.
