Typically, research on the effect of ownership has considered health care providers in isolation of competitive interaction from other firms. This analysis considers how the selection of Medicare reimbursement codes for skilled nursing facilities varies by ownership and is influenced by the competitive spillovers from market dominance of for-profit institutions. We find evidence that not-for-profits are less likely to code patients into the highest reimbursement categories. Further, as the market becomes dominated by for-profits, both for-profit and not-for-profits increase the share of patients in these high reimbursement categories.

Selective electrocatalytic hydrogenation (ECH) of phenol is a sustainable route to produce cyclohexanone, an industrially important feedstock for polymer synthesis. However, attaining high selectivity and faradaic efficiency (FE) for cyclohexanone remain challenging, owning to over-hydrogenation of phenol to cyclohexanol and competition of hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, by employing hydrogen spillover effect, we modulate adsorbed hydrogen species (H) coverage on Pt surface via migration to TiO in an anatase TiO-supported Pt catalyst.

In recent years, China's economic development is dominated by an eco-friendly and low-carbon transition, making the low-carbon advancement of the construction sector urgent. Local governments play a crucial role in this process. This paper, utilizing provincial panel data from 2007 to 2021, empirically analyzes the impact of government environmental governance (EG) on the carbon intensity of the construction industry (CCEI) through the panel regression, spatial econometric and dynamic threshold models.

Porcine delta-coronavirus (PDCoV) spillovers were recently detected in febrile children, underscoring the recurrent zoonoses of divergent CoVs. To date, no vaccines or specific therapeutics are approved for use in humans against PDCoV. To prepare for possible future PDCoV epidemics, we isolated PDCoV spike (S)-directed monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) from humanized mice and found that two, designated PD33 and PD41, broadly neutralized a panel of PDCoV variants.
