Metamaterial for Hydrogen Sensing.

A hydrogen sensor based on plasmonic metasurfaces is demonstrated to exhibit the industry-required 10 s reaction time and sensitivity. It consists of a layer of either Y or WO sandwiched between a top Pd nanodisk and a Au mirror at the base. The phase change layer (Y, WO) reacts with hydrogen, and the corresponding change of the refractive index (permittivity) is detected by the spectral shift of the resonance dip in reflectance at the IR spectral window. This direct reflectance readout of the permittivity change due to hydrogen uptake is fast and is facilitated by radiation field enhancement extending into the phase change volume. Numerical modeling was used to elucidate the effects that real and imaginary parts of the refractive index exert on the spectral shifts of resonance. The mechanism of sensor performance is outlined, and a possibility to tune its spectral range of operation by the diameter of the Pd nanodisk and thickness of the phase change material makes this design applicable to other molecular detection applications including surface-enhanced IR absorption.

Introduction: Cervical cancer (CC) is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among Uganda women, yet rates of CC screening are very low. Training women who have recently screened to engage in advocacy for screening among women in their social network is a network-based strategy for promoting information dissemination and CC screening uptake.

Methods: Drawing on the Exploration, Preparation, Implementation and Sustainment (EPIS) framework for implementation science, this hybrid type 1 randomized controlled trial (RCT) of a peer-led, group advocacy training intervention, Game Changers for Cervical Cancer Prevention (GC-CCP), will examine efficacy for increasing CC screening uptake as well as how it can be implemented and sustained in diverse clinic settings.

Introduction: We assessed potential mechanisms behind the requirement for more frequent dupilumab dosing in eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) compared with other approved indications.

Methods: Results for the phase 3 LIBERTY EoE TREET study coprimary endpoints (proportion of patients achieving a peak intraepithelial eosinophil count of ≤6 eosinophils per high-power field and absolute change from baseline in Dysphagia Symptom Questionnaire total score) were pooled in exposure-response analyses.

Results: A steep initial relationship then plateau was observed between higher dupilumab steady-state trough concentrations and decreased eosinophilic infiltration at week 24, whereas a graded exposure-response relationship was observed for symptomatic improvement at week 24.

This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of three dosing regimens of JMT103 in patients with bone metastases from solid tumors. Eligible patients were randomly assigned to receive JMT103 subcutaneously, 120 mg every 4 weeks (Cohort 1), 120 mg every 8 weeks (Cohort 2), or 180 mg every 8 weeks (Cohort 3) for up to 49 weeks.
