Identification of Brain Cell Type-Specific Therapeutic Targets for Glioma From Genetics.

CNS Neurosci Ther

December 2024

The 2nd Affiliated Hospital, Jiangxi Medical College, Nanchang University, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China.

Background: Previous research has demonstrated correlations between the complex types and functions of brain cells and the etiology of glioma. However, the causal relationship between gene expression regulation in specific brain cell types and glioma risk, along with its therapeutic implications, remains underexplored.

Methods: Utilizing brain cell type-specific cis-expression quantitative trait loci (cis-eQTLs) and glioma genome-wide association study (GWAS) datasets in conjunction with Mendelian randomization (MR) and colocalization analyses, we conducted a systematic investigation to determine whether an association exists between the gene expression of specific brain cell types and the susceptibility to glioma, including its subtypes.

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by the formation of benign tumors in various organs, particularly in the central nervous system. We aimed to delineate the molecular profile of Turkish individuals diagnosed with TSC by analyzing the TSC1 and TSC2 genes using next-generation sequencing (NGS). Sophia Genetics' Sophia Inherited Disease Panel was used to perform NGS on 22 individuals diagnosed with TSC and to identify pathogenic variants in the TSC1 and TSC2 genes.

Background: Intrauterine adhesion (IUA) is a common cause of clinically refractory infertility, and there exists significant heterogeneity in the treatment outcomes among IUA patients with the similar severity after transcervical resection of adhesion(TCRA). The underlying mechanism of different treatment outcomes occur remains elusive, and the precise contribution of various cell subtypes in this process remains uncertain.

Results: Here, we performed single-cell transcriptome sequencing on 10 human endometrial samples to establish a single-cell atlas differences between patients who responded to estrogen therapy and those who did not.

Background: Increased icariin content during the harvesting period is one of the factors limiting the quality improvement of Epimedium sagittatum, and there is currently a lack of scientific and effective biotechnological measures.

Results: In this study, we carried out experiments involving spraying different concentrations (0 µmol·L as control group, 500 µmol·L, 1000 µmol·L and 1500 µmol·L) of methyl jasmonate (MeJA) solution on E. sagittatum leaves.

[Effect of Organic Fertilizer Replacing Nitrogen Fertilizer on Major Grain Yield in China].

Huan Jing Ke Xue

January 2025

School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering, Ningxia University, Yinchuan 750021, China.

To comprehensively assess the changing pattern of organic fertilizer substitution with nitrogen fertilizer on the yield of major grains in China, with 102 literature as the research object, through Meta-analysis we quantitatively explored the impacts of soil physicochemical properties, climatic conditions, and different nitrogen fertilizer replacement rates and supplemental application amounts. The results showed that the replacement of nitrogen fertilizer by organic fertilizer could increase crop yields compared with those from the application of nitrogen fertilizer alone, and soil quick-acting potassium content, pH, and annual average temperature had the most significant effects on the yields of the three major grains. When the nitrogen fertilizer replacement rate and the amount of supplemental nitrogen fertilizer applied were 31.
