In this research, tropane alkaloids in were extracted by tropine-type ionic liquid (IL) aqueous solutions under ultrasound assistance, and N-propyltropine hexafluorophosphate ([CTr][PF]) was found to be the most ideal IL in this extraction mode after comprehensive screening. When 0.03 mol/L [CTr][PF] aqueous solution was chosen as the extraction solvent, the solid-liquid ratio of raw material powders and ionic liquid aqueous solution was 1:20 (g/mL), ultrasonic power was 90 W and extraction time was 30 min, the extraction efficiency of tropane alkaloids has reached 121.3%. Compared with common heating extraction, it can further shorten the extraction time, improve extraction efficiency and decrease IL consumption. Furthermore, extraction mechanism together with potential toxicity of IL have been explored and discussed.

The rising prevalence of myopia is a significant global health concern. Atropine eye drops are commonly used to slow myopia progression in children, but their long-term use raises concern about intraocular pressure (IOP). This study uses SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) to improve the interpretability of machine learning (ML) model predicting end IOP, offering clinicians explainable insights for personalized patient management.

L., also known as sweet marjoram, is a plant with multiple uses, both in the culinary field and traditional medicine, because of its major antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and digestive properties. In this research, we focused on the effects of essential oil (OmEO, at concentrations of 25, 150, and 300 μL/L), evaluating chemical structure as well as its impact on cognitive performance and oxidative stress, in both naive zebrafish (), as well as in a scopolamine-induced amnesic model (SCOP, 100 μM).

Aim: The present investigation aimed to explore in rats the early postnatal dysfunction of the brain muscarinic cholinergic system (EPDMChS) during the most vulnerable period of postnatal development, as the possible main factor for changes in adult hippocampal neurogenesis and disorders in hippocampus-dependent spatial learning and memory.

Methods: White inbred rats (n=15 in each group) were used. EPDMCHS was produced by a new method, which includes early postnatal blocking of M1-M5 muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in the rat pups, using subcutaneous injection of Scopolamine during postnatal days 7-28.

Drug abuse is a major public problem in the workplace, traffic, and forensic issues, which requires a standardized test device to monitor on-site drug use. For field testing, the most important requirements are portability, sensitivity, non-invasiveness, and quick results. Motivated by this problem, a point of care (POC) test based on lateral flow assay (LFA) was developed for the detection of cocaine (COC) and methamphetamine (MET) in saliva which has been selected as the matrix for this study due to its rapid and non-invasive collection process.

Piper longum, commonly known as long pepper, is highly valued for its bioactive alkaloid piperine, which has diverse pharmaceutical and culinary applications. In this study, we used high-throughput sequencing and de novo transcriptome assembly to analyze the transcriptomes of P. longum leaves, roots, and spikes.
