A method is proposed to measure the photon polarisation parameter in transitions using an amplitude analysis of decays. Simplified models of the system are used to simulate and decays, validate the amplitude analysis method, and demonstrate the feasibility of a measurement of the parameter irrespective of the model parameters. Similar sensitivities to are obtained with both the charged and neutral hadronic systems. In the absence of any background and distortion due to experimental effects, the statistical uncertainty expected from an analysis of decays in an LHCb data set corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 is estimated to be 0.009. A similar measurement using decays in a Belle II data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5 would lead to a statistical uncertainty of 0.018.

Atomic force microscopy-infrared spectroscopy (AFM-IR) is a photothermal scanning probe technique that combines nanoscale spatial resolution with the chemical analysis capability of mid-infrared spectroscopy. Using this hybrid technique, chemical identification down to the single molecule level has been demonstrated. However, the mechanism at the heart of AFM-IR, the transduction of local photothermal heating to cantilever deflection, is still not fully understood.

Background: Post-activation performance enhancement (PAPE) has demonstrated efficacy in acutely improving athletic performance. However, its distinction from general warm-up (GW) effects remains ambiguous, and experimental designs adopted in most PAPE studies exhibit important limitations.
Objectives: The aims of this work are to (i) examine the effects of research methodology on PAPE outcomes, (ii) explore PAPE outcomes in relation to comparison methods, performance measures, GW comprehensiveness, recovery duration, participants' characteristics, conditioning activity (CA) parameters, and (iii) make recommendations for future PAPE experimental designs on the basis of the results of the meta-analysis.

The optimization of bioactive compound extraction from using ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) via sonotrode was investigated to maximize phenolic recovery and antioxidant activity while promoting a sustainable process. Optimal conditions (40% / ethanol in water, 38 min, 36% amplitude) were selected to maximize phenolic recovery while considering environmental and energy sustainability by optimizing extraction efficiency and minimizing solvent and energy usage. HPLC-ESI-QTOF-MS analysis tentatively identified 25 phenolic compounds, including sulfated phenolic acids, phlorotannins, flavonoids, and halophenols, with some reported for the first time in , underscoring the complexity of this alga's metabolome.

Background: Systemic infection (SCI) is the third most common cause of late-onset sepsis in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU). While platelet involvement in fungal infections has been extensively studied, evaluation of the hemostatic mechanism in Candida infections, especially in neonates, has not been widely investigated. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the hemostatic profile of neonates with SCI through rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM), a laboratory method that assesses the viscoelastic properties of blood.

Hardness is one of the dominant sensory characteristics of food. This study estimated the effect of sensitivity to hardness on the texture perception and chewing function using 2, 4, and 6% agar gels. Increasing the concentration of agar resulted in an increase in gel hardness and springiness, measured by texture profile analysis.
