Hypidone hydrochloride (YL-0919) was a novel combined selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor and 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor agonist for treatment of major depressive disorder. Quantitation of YL-0919 in plasma samples was critical for evaluation of its pharmacokinetics in clinical studies. An ultra HPLC-MS/MS method has been developed and validated. Plasma samples were extracted by SPE method and then chromatographed on an Acquity BEH C column. Detection was performed on an API-5500 tandem mass spectrometer using positive ESI. A sensitive and robust method was developed and validated for quantitative analysis of YL-0919 in human plasma samples for the first time. And this novel method was successfully applied to investigate pharmacokinetic profiles of YL-0919 in Chinese healthy subjects.

Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) has emerged as a promising technology for neutralizing microbes, including multidrug-resistant strains. This study investigates CAP's potential as an alternative to traditional antimicrobial drugs for microbial inactivation. In the era of increasing antimicrobial resistance, there is a persistent need for alternative antimicrobial strategies.

Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide is a crucial coenzyme in cellular metabolism and is implicated in various diseases. This work introduces an electrochemical bioanalytical method utilizing solution-phase formate dehydrogenase (CbFDH) for detecting its oxidized form (NAD) in human blood plasma samples. The detection mechanism involves the catalytic conversion of NAD to NADH, facilitated by CbFDH in the presence of formate.

Background: Tranexamic acid is an anti-fibrinolytic agent routinely used during hip and knee joint replacement surgery to minimize bleeding. Chronic kidney disease is a common chronic health problem seen among adults requiring major arthroplasty surgery. Tranexamic acid is renally cleared and may accumulate in chronic kidney disease.

Objective: To isolate and quantify cell-free DNA, analysis for p53 mutations, and correlation with tumor burden in women with epithelial ovarian cancer compared with benign and borderline epithelial ovarian tumors.
Methods: In this case-control study, plasma samples of eligible women collected 1 hour before surgery and based on final histopathology, women with epithelial ovarian cancer recruited as cases and borderline, and benign ovarian tumors as controls. Cell-free DNA extracted from plasma serum and quantified using Nanodrop Spectrophotometer.
