To measure the comparative prevalence of testicular involvement in borderline lepromatous (BL) and lepromatous (LL) leprosy patients, serum FSH, LH, and total testosterone levels were measured in 42 LL and 21 BL subjects. Serum FSH levels were elevated in 19% of BL and in 86% of LL patients. Serum LH values were increased in 10% of BL and in 79% of LL patients. Total serum testosterone values below the normal limit of 280 ng/dl were not found in BL subjects but were present in 31% (13) of the LL cases. By measuring serum free testosterone in patients with low-normal total values, one BL and an additional five LL patients could be identified as below normal limits, i.e., less than 50 pg/ml. Thus, androgen deficiency was present in 5% of BL and in 43% of LL subjects. All of these differences between the BL and LL patients were statistically significant.

Background: Testicular torsion (TT) is a urological emergency requiring prompt intervention to prevent irreversible damage to the testicle.
Objective: This study aims to assess trends in men's TT referrals, diagnostic evaluation through Doppler sonography (DS) scan, symptoms before surgery, orchidectomy rates, and TT laterality in relation to age and seasons of the year.
Methods: This observational retrospective cohort study included all patients treated for TT at King Abdullah University Hospital between 2009 and 2021.

Accelerating the genetic selection to obtain animals more resilient to climate changes, and with a lower environmental impact, would greatly benefit by a substantial shortening of the generation interval. One way to achieve this goal is to generate male gametes directly from embryos. However, spermatogenesis is a complex biological process that, at present, can be partially reproduced only in the mouse.

Although considered an "eco-friendly" biodegradable plastic, polylactic acid (PLA) microplastic (PLA-MP) poses a growing concern for human health, yet its effects on male reproductive function remain underexplored. This study investigated the reproductive toxicity of PLA in male mice and its potential mechanisms. To this end, our in vivo and in vitro experiments demonstrated that after degradation in the digestive system, a significant number of PLA-MP-derived nanoparticles could penetrate the blood-testis barrier (BTB) and localize within the spermatogenic microenvironment.

In this study, we performed next-generation sequencing analysis for a large number of DNA and RNA samples from patients with PT-DLBCL. DNA sequencing analysis identified ≥ 3 chromosomes with copy number variations (CNVs) and microsatellite instability as prognostic biomarkers, rather than mutations and genetic subtypes.

This review examines the historical evolution of testicular cancer (TCa) treatment, emphasizing the transformative impact of World War II. Prior to the war, cases of more than 50 testicular tumors were exceedingly rare. The mobilization of American troops, especially after the German Blitz, resulted in widespread military health screenings, leading to a surge in incidental TCa diagnoses during the 1940s.
