The twelve Λ-S electronic states of the first four dissociation limits of the MgSb molecule have been examined at the icMRCI+Q level employing basis sets of quintuple-ζ quality. The potential energy curves, vibrational levels and spectroscopic constants of the species have been investigated. The permanent dipole moments of the interested states are derived, and the transition dipole moments, Einstein emission coefficients, radiation lifetimes and Franck-Condon factors between selected states are also determined. Four Λ-S states of the first two dissociation limits split into seven Ω states under the effect of spin-orbit coupling. Characterizations of the MgSb low-lying Ω states are performed for the first time. In addition, the results and relevant data provided in this work on MgSb are compared with the antimony-IIA group and magnesium-VA group diatomic species. It is anticipated that this work will shed some light on further investigations of MgSb and other antimony-IIA group systems.

The optoelectronic properties of pyrene diimides (PyDIs) are of strategic interest given the successful application of similar rylene diimides as n-type organic semiconductors in a variety of organic electronics. We present an improved synthesis for 1,5,6,10-pyrene diimide and the first report of its isomer, 1,8,9,10-pyrene diimide. We demonstrate the effect of imide placement on the core structure, optical properties, and electron affinities.

Nanoscale photoswitchable proteins could facilitate precise spatiotemporal control of transmembrane communication and support studies in synthetic biology, neuroscience and bioelectronics. Here, through covalent modification of the α-haemolysin protein pore with arylazopyrazole photoswitches, we produced 'photopores' that transition between iontronic resistor and diode modes in response to irradiation at orthogonal wavelengths. In the diode mode, a low-leak OFF-state nanopore exhibits a reversible increase in unitary conductance of more than 20-fold upon irradiation at 365 nm.

Traditional decision-making models conceptualize humans as adaptive learners utilizing the differences between expected and actual rewards (prediction errors, PEs) to maximize outcomes, but rarely consider the influence of violations of emotional expectations (emotional PEs) and how it differs from reward PEs. Here, we conducted a fMRI experiment (n = 43) using a modified Ultimatum Game to examine how reward and emotional PEs affect punishment decisions in terms of rejecting unfair offers. Our results revealed that reward relative to emotional PEs exerted a stronger prediction to punishment decisions.

As Artificial Intelligence and Robotics evolve, the ethical implications of autonomous systems are becoming increasingly paramount. This article explores the role of a robot's inner speech in enhancing human phronesis - the capacity for making ethical and contextually appropriate decisions. Phronesis is a complex human trait based on experience, personality, and values, and is crucial for decisions affecting others' well-being.

It is important in the rising demands to have efficient anomaly detection in camera surveillance systems for improving public safety in a complex environment. Most of the available methods usually fail to capture the long-term temporal dependencies and spatial correlations, especially in dynamic multi-camera settings. Also, many traditional methods rely heavily on large labeled datasets, generalizing poorly when encountering unseen anomalies in the process.
