B lymphocytes, a key cluster of cells composing the immune system, can protect against abnormal biological factors. Heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) plays important roles in cell proliferation and immune regulation, but its effects on the development and growth of B lymphocytes are still unknown. Herein, the count of B lymphocytes in HO-1 gene knockout (HO-1) mice was significantly lower than that of the HO-1 gene wild-type (HO-1) mice. Meanwhile, the cell count of HO-1 mice did not recover after irradiation for one week, due to the G0/G1 phase arrest of Pro-B cells and the augmented apoptosis of Pre-B cells. Up-regulation of HO-1 by lentivirus attenuated the Pro-B cell cycle arrest and Pre-B cell apoptosis. To understand the molecular mechanism by which HO-1 knockout blocked B lymphocyte development, protein-to-protein interaction network and Western blot were used. The PI3K/AKT signaling pathway mediated the regulatory effects of HO-1 on B lymphocytes. In conclusion, HO-1 is a crucial transcriptional repressor for B cell development.

Scopoleitin (SP), a bioactive compound from many edible plants and fruits, exerts a wide range of biological activities, however the role and mechanism of SP in acetaminophen (APAP)-induced hepatotoxicity remains unclear. In this study, we verified the protective effect of SP on APAP-induced liver injury (AILI) hepatotoxicity and explore the underlying molecular mechanisms. Here, we showed that SP alleviated AILI by reducing serum alanine transaminase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels, hepatic histopathological damage, inflammation, and liver cell apoptosis.

Background: Epilepsy, a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, presents considerable difficulties in treatment, particularly when dealing with drug-resistant cases. Dapsone, recognized for its anti-inflammatory properties, holds promise as a potential therapeutic option. However, its effectiveness in epilepsy requires further investigation.

derived extracellular vesicles (LAB-EVs) are nanosized particles secreted from during fermentation, and therefore exist universally in fermented foods such as yogurt, pickles, and fermented beverages. In this study, three LAB-EVs were prepared using a simple scalable method, and then their structures, compositions, and biosafety properties were characterized. The protective properties and potential mechanisms of action of the LAB-EVs against alcoholic liver disease were studied.

Doxorubicin (DOXO) has long been used clinically and remains a key drug in cancer therapy. DOXO-induced cardiomyopathy (DICM) is a chronic and fatal complication that severely limits the use of DOXO. However, there are very few therapeutic agents for DICM, and there is an urgent need to identify those that can be used for a larger number of patients.

Abnormality of granulosa cells (GCs) is the critical cause of follicular atresia in premature ovarian failure (POF). RIPK3 is highly expressed in GCs derived from atretic follicles. We focus on uncovering how RIPK3 contributes to ovarian GC senescence.
