Childhood cancers, with leukemia at the forefront, comprise 97% acute leukemia and 3% chronic leukemia, with 75% of acute leukemias being of lymphoblastic origin. Over the past 50 years, survival rates have witnessed a remarkable increase, progressing from around 10% to achieving cure rates exceeding 90% in certain childhood ALL subgroups with the advent of combined therapies. Between 1999 and 2018, a total of 123 patients diagnosed with B-ALL were initially identified, but after applying exclusion criteria, 105 patients were included in the evaluation, who were treated with COG protocols at our center.

Background: Hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis recovery after cessation of steroid therapy in children with nephrotic syndrome (NS) has hardly been studied in the literature.

Methods: This 22-month cross-sectional study recruited children (2-14 years) with NS, having received a minimum 3 months of prednisolone, now in remission, and off steroids for 1, 3, or 6 months. Serum cortisol-basal and stimulated (with long-acting intramuscular adrenocorticotropic hormone), and factors affecting them, were assessed.

To inform targeted interventions, we analyzed factors associated with ART use among youth in Uganda.

Methods: Data were from 42 communities between 2011 and 2020 (5 survey rounds) from the Rakai Community Cohort Study, an open, population-based cohort.

Background: Therapeutic drug monitoring-informed teicoplanin dosage adjustments are recommended for safe and effective use. The authors' group previously reported that only half of children reached the recommended blood concentration range at the standard teicoplanin loading dose. It has been suggested that higher loading doses are necessary; however, the usefulness and safety of high-dose loading in pediatric patients in clinical practice are unknown.

Background: Children allergic to milk and egg, but tolerant to baked products, display higher reactivity thresholds than the general population of children allergic to milk and egg. We sought to verify the reactivity thresholds of milk- and egg-allergic children who also react to baked milk and baked egg, respectively.

Methods: We retrospectively assessed consecutive oral food challenge (OFC) for baked milk and egg between January 2018 and March 2022 in a population of baked milk- and baked-egg allergic children.
