This systematic review reflects the results of pharmacogenetic studies in the Russian Federation aimed at studying the genes involved in the drug biotransformation system. The works of Russian researchers found by us are mostly devoted to microsomal liver oxidation enzymes (metabolism) and membrane transporter systems (absorption and excretion). This review presents population-ethnic and associative clinical studies on the genes of the system, noncytochrome oxidation enzymes (, ), membrane transporter system genes (, ) and warfarin biotransformation enzymes (, ). The information is structured in the form of 11 tables, divided by regions of the Russian Federation.

Optical resolution photoacoustic imaging of uneven samples without z-scanning is transformative for the fast analysis and diagnosis of diseases. However, current approaches to elongate the depth of field (DOF) typically imply cumbersome postprocessing procedures, bulky optical element ensembles, or substantial excitation beam side lobes. Metasurface technology allows for the phase modulation of light and the miniaturization of imaging systems to wavelength-size thickness.

Rapid population expansion has made food security a global concern for humanity, necessitating a sustainable assessment of natural resources. Well evaluated and managed soil is one of the most significant resources that can assist close the gap between supply and demand for food to attain food security. A precise assessment of land productivity (LP) is essential for sustainable land use management.

Medical facilities are civilian objects specially protected by international humanitarian law. Despite the need for systematic documentation of the effects of war on medical facilities for judiciary accountability, current methods for surveilling damage to protected civilian objects during ongoing armed conflict are insufficient. Satellite imagery damage assessment confers significant possibilities for investigating patterns of war.

Importance: Perioperative bleeding is common in general surgery. The POISE-3 (Perioperative Ischemic Evaluation-3) trial demonstrated efficacy of prophylactic tranexamic acid (TXA) compared with placebo in preventing major bleeding without increasing vascular outcomes in noncardiac surgery.
Objective: To determine the safety and efficacy of prophylactic TXA, specifically in general surgery.
