Members of the genus have a significant effect on human health, especially in infants and children. Since the viral genome has limited coding capacity, Enteroviruses subvert a range of cellular processes for viral infection via the interaction of viral proteins and numerous cellular factors. Intriguingly, the capsid-receptor interaction plays a crucial role in viral entry and has significant implications in viral pathogenesis. Moreover, interactions between structural proteins and host factors occur directly or indirectly in multiple steps of viral replication. In this review, we focus on the current understanding of the multifunctionality of structural proteins in the viral life cycle, which may constitute valuable targets for antiviral and therapeutic interventions.

Luteinizing hormone (LH), along with its agonist choriongonadotropin (hCG) in humans, is the key hormone responsible for the tropic regulation of the gonadal function. LH and hCG act through their cognate receptor, the luteinizing hormone/choriongonadotropin receptor (LHCGR; more appropriately LHR in rodents lacking CG), located in the testis in Leydig cells and in the ovary in theca, luteal, and luteinizing granulosa cells. Low levels in LHCGR are also expressed in numerous extragonadal sites.

The rapid and efficient bone regeneration is still in unsatisfactory outcomes, demonstrating alternative strategy and molecular mechanism is necessary. Nanoscale biomaterials have shown some promising results in enhancing bone regeneration, however, the detailed interaction mechanism between nanomaterial and cells/tissue formation is not clear. Herein, a molecular-based inorganic-organic nanomaterial poly(citrate-siloxane) (PCS) is reported which can rapidly enhance osteogenic differentiation and bone formation through a special interaction with the cellular surface communication network factor 3 (CCN3), further activating the Wnt10b/β-catenin signaling pathway.

This study explores the effect of different extraction methods and preheat treatments in obtaining protein concentrate from pumpkin seed flour. The effects on the yield and functional properties of pumpkin seed protein concentrate (PSPC) were compared alongside microwave and conventional preheating methods using alkali, salt, and enzyme-assisted alkali extraction techniques. Analytical assessments included proximate analysis, soluble protein content, water solubility index (WSI), emulsification activity (EA) and stability (ES), foaming capacity (FC) and stability (FS), and antioxidant activity (AA).

Tumor treatment remains a significant medical challenge, with many traditional therapies causing notable side effects. Recent research has led to the development of immunotherapy, which offers numerous advantages. Bacteria inherently possess motility, allowing them to preferentially colonize tumors and modulate the tumor immune microenvironment, thus influencing the efficacy of immunotherapy.
