Aim: The aims of this study were (a) to translate the MOLES index from English to Italian and (ii) to compare the two versions using non-parametric item response theory.
Design: An online survey was used to gather data.
Methods: Forward and back translation was used to prepare the Italian version of the MOLES which was then analysed using the non-parametric item response theory of Mokken scaling.
Results: Mokken scales were found in both the English and the Italian versions of the MOLES index. However, the two scales-while the total scale score was not significantly different-showed different properties, and Mokken scaling selected different items from each scale.

Background: The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) is the worldwide terminology system for measuring health and disability at both individual and population levels. However, the underlying challenges remain in achieving widespread adoption and implementation of ICF within healthcare contexts, including the unequal interval scale of the ICF Likert-type qualifier system ranging from 0 to 4, a lack of consensus on conceptualization and grading criteria of ICF items, and an excessive number of ICF items associated with each disease. The utilization of item response theory (IRT) for ICF studies demonstrated potential benefits in addressing these issues.

Background: There is a high probability of compassion fatigue occurring in helping professionals who work with traumatized clients or patients. Several instruments exist for measuring compassion fatigue, but all of them have methodological flaws. The original Compassion Satisfaction/Fatigue Self-Test for Helpers is time-consuming and its psychometric properties, including factor structure, have not been supported in the research.

Objective: This study aimed to externally validate the Memory Assessment Clinics Scale for Epilepsy (MAC-E), a brief self-report measure of subjective memory complaints in adults with epilepsy.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted including adults with focal pharmacoresistant epilepsy from three Level 4 epilepsy centers in the U.S.
Objective: To assess the applicability of the parent attitudes about childhood vaccines (PACV) survey to pet owners and its association with vaccine hesitancy.
Methods: A national survey including an adapted version of the PACV was administered to 2,853 dog and 1,977 cat owners. Respondents were queried about the vaccination status of their pets.

In recent years, research on disordered gaming has grown substantially with researchers developing different psychometric tools for assessing it. Two of the most prominent assessment tools are the Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short-Form (IGDS9-SF) and the Gaming Disorder Test (GDT), which evaluate disordered gaming under the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) frameworks, respectively. The main aim of this study was to assess and compare the scalability, reliability, and validity of both scales to determine if they effectively assess disordered gaming in a normative sample, through the Mokken Scale Analysis (MSA).
