Clauses that are parallel in form and meaning show processing advantages in ellipsis and coordination structures (Frazier et al. 1984; Kehler 2000; Carlson 2002). However, the constructions that have been used to show a parallelism advantage do not always require a strong semantic relationship between clauses. We present two eye tracking while reading studies on focus-sensitive coordination structures, an understudied form of ellipsis which requires the generation of a contextually salient semantic relation or scale between conjuncts. However, when the remnant of ellipsis lacks an overt correlate in the matrix clause and must be "sprouted" in the ellipsis site, the relation between clauses is simplified to entailment. Instead of facilitation for sentences with an entailment relation between clauses, our online processing results suggest that violating Parallelism is costly, even when doing so could ease the semantic relations required for interpretation.

Overcoming the challenges of integrating disparate components in nanoarchitectures, this study introduces a straightforward strategy based on a mixed-valence coordination approach, creating an ordered ternary heterostructure integrated with ultrasmall homojunction. This singular ordered homojunction-heterostructure unites ultrathin 1D rutile TiO nanowires (NWs) and ultrathin anatase TiO NWs with 0D Prussian Blue Analogs (PBAs) nanoparticles (NPs), all exhibiting crystallographic oriented alignment with each other, forming a ternary mesocrystals. Experimental and theoretical insights disclose that the complex interplay between these dissimilar components is governed by a spontaneous lattice match effect, which not only optimizes but also directs the charge transfer, thereby enhancing both efficiency and stability.

Integrating mixed electron donor (D) and electron acceptor (A) ligands into metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) is an effective yet relatively unexplored approach for improving the anode performance of hybrid lithium-ion capacitors (HLICs). In this study, using an electron donor 2,6-bis(4'-pyridyl)tetrathiafulvalene and an electron acceptor ,'-bis(5-isophthalic acid) naphthalene diimide as ligands, a new Zn-TTF/NDI MOF () is constructed as a pseudocapacitive anode of HLICs. Crystallographic characterization revealed that MOF adopts a two-dimensional (2D) coordination network.

Low-symmetry metal-organic cages (MOCs) can better mimic the structure of biological enzymes compared to high-symmetry MOCs, due to their unique internal cavities that resemble the specialized and irregular active sites of enzymes. In this study, two low-symmetry heteroleptic MOCs with six Pd(ii) centers, PdL L and PdL L , were successfully constructed by combining two strategies: asymmetric ligand assembly and multi-ligand co-assembly. Crystallographic characterization and analysis revealed that PdL L is a mixture of potentially 16 isomers.

Diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) provides insight into the micro and macro-structure of the brain. Multi-shell multi-tissue constrained spherical deconvolution (MSMT-CSD) models the underlying local fiber orientation distributions (FODs) using the dMRI signal. While generally producing high-quality FODs, MSMT-CSD is a voxel-wise method that can be impacted by noise and produce erroneous FODs.

Reduced chromite ore processing residue (rCOPR) is vulnerable to the surrounding conditions in environments, which can induce the release and oxidation of Cr(III). This work found the synergistic effect of light and sulfite on destroying rCOPR stability, causing the significant release of Cr(VI), which was 4∼7 times higher than that under single factor action. In CrFe(OH)/sulfite/light system, Cr(VI) release rate could reach 11.
