The occurrence of isolated bilateral hippocampus infarct is extremely rare and is thought to be associated with a number of etiologies, including ischemia, infection, paraneoplastic syndromes, seizures, drug addiction, etc. The presented manuscript depicts a case of a 28-year-old male patient who has been a chronic alcoholic for the past 4 years and, on imaging, was found to have a bilateral hippocampal infarct in isolation. Also, the manuscript presents the appearance of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of Bochdalek's flower basket, which is an anatomical variant of the choroid plexus in the fourth ventricle.

Purpose: To explore the relationship between peripapillary atrophy (PPA) and diabetic retinopathy (DR), and to uncover potential mechanisms using swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT) angiography.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included 845 patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM), who underwent detailed systemic and ophthalmic evaluations. A state-of-the-art deep learning method was employed to precisely identify the parapapillary beta and gamma zones.

Purpose: Choroidal inflammation, complement deposition, and accumulation of C-reactive protein (CRP) are involved in age-related macular degeneration (AMD) pathology. The pro-inflammatory signals that regulate immune cell recruitment in the choroid of patients with AMD remain to be determined. We performed cytokine profiling of human AMD and age-matched control donor tissue to identify inflammatory molecules upregulated in AMD tissue.

Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) drugs suppress choroidal neovascularisation (CNV), thus improving vision. However, some patients may have a poor response or develop resistance to anti-VEGF drugs. Geraniin (GE), a polyphenol isolated from an herb called Phyllanthus amarus, possesses anti-angiogenic properties.
