Significant augmentation of the incidence of duodenal neuroendocrine tumors duodenum has been observed in recent decades. There are 5 histological types of these tumors: gastrinoma (50-60%), somatostatin-producing tumor (15%), inactive serotonin-containing tumors (20%), poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (<3%) and gangliocytic paraganglioma (<2%). The majority of tumors are localized within the bulb and postbulbar part of duodenum, 20% are found in periampular area. Treatment strategy depends on dimensions, localization, histological class, stage and type of tumor. It is believed that endoscopic resection is permissible for small inactive tumors (G1) located above major duodenal papilla. The majority of other neoplasms requires surgical resection. Personal experience of various surgeons is limited by small group of patients. Therefore, it is necessary to summarize results for selection of optimal treatment.

Purpose: Determining the primary origin of non-organ-confined neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) for accurate diagnosis and management. Neuroendocrine tumors are rare neoplasms with diverse clinical behaviors. Determining their primary origin remains challenging in cases of non-organ-confined NETs.

Introduction: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized cancer therapy by enhancing the antitumor immune response. This case describes an 80-year-old male with synchronous multiple primary malignancies (MPMs), including lung metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC), and brain metastatic urothelial carcinoma, who was treated with dual ICI therapy.
Case Presentation: The patient, with a history of diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, well-differentiated neuroendocrine duodenal tumors and micronodular exogenous cirrhosis (Child-Pugh class A), presented with a non-invasive bladder carcinoma (pT1N0M0) resected endoscopically in December 2022.

Background/objective: Patient-derived organoids (PDOs) have emerged as essential for ex vivo modelling for pancreatic cancer (PDAC) but reports on efficacy and organoid take rate are scarce. This study aimed to assess the feasibility of establishing PDOs from resected specimens in periampullary tumors.
Methods: Patients undergoing surgery for suspected periampullary cancer were included.

We present a rare case of physiological uptake of [ Lu]Lu-DOTATATE in the gallbladder, observed post-therapy, in a 47-year-old man with grade I duodenal neuroendocrine tumor (NET), despite no uptake being observed pre-therapy in the somatostatin receptor-positron emission tomography. On planar scintigraphy, the gallbladder uptake could have been misidentified as liver metastasis. By utilizing single photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography imaging, we were able to precisely localize the tracer and obtain anatomical morphological characteristics, thereby averting the potential for misinterpretation of liver metastasis resulting from the gallbladder's physiological uptake of [ Lu]Lu-DOTATATE in NET patients.

Visfatin is an adipokine with mediatory effects on inflammation. It is expressed at low levels in the pig stomach, but its role in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract is not well understood. This study explored visfatin expression and localisation in the stomach and duodenum of piglets fed varying levels of polyphenols derived from olive mill waste extract, known for their antioxidant and immunomodulatory properties.
