Cerium vanadate resembling the shape of a hedgehog were interconnected with carbon nanofibers to give a heterostructure (referred to as CeV/CNF) that exhibits efficient catalytic activity for the electrochemical detection of the drug nilutamide (NLT). The heterostructure material and its modification were characterized by XRD, Raman spectra, XPS, FESEM, TEM, SAED, and EDX. A glassy carbon electrode was modified with the CeV/CNF nanocomposite. Best operated at -0.52 V (vs. Ag/AgCl), it exhibits a very low detection limit (2.0 nM), wide linear range (0.01-540 μM), high sensitivity (1.36 μA μM cm) and rapid response towards NLT. It was applied to the determination of NLT in spiked human urine. Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries display promise as redox-based batteries, where separators are an essential part of preventing short-circuiting of the positive and negative electrodes, while the shuttle effect is a critical issue of separators. Currently, commercial PP separators are weak in inhibiting the polysulfides shuttling, so modified separators are needed to inhibit it to improve the battery performance. This paper reports that CeVO/KB composites act as separator materials.

This study presents a facial and quick electrochemical sensor platform that offers remarkable water and food safety applications. The present work represents a study of the synthesis and characterization for efficient cerium vanadate (CeVO) with a functionalized carbon nanofiber (f-CNF) decorated electrode, which is a highly effective electrode modifier for sensitive nitrite detection. The CeVO nanoparticles were synthesized using the facial hydrothermal technique, and a composite (CeVO@f-CNF) was prepared using the sonication method.

Nanocatalytic therapy is an emerging technology that uses synthetic nanoscale enzyme mimics for biomedical treatment. However, in the field of neuroscience, achieving neurological protection while simultaneously killing tumor cells is a technical challenge. Herein, we synthesized a biomimic and translational cerium vanadate (CeVO) nanozyme for glioblastoma (GBM) therapy and the repair of brain damage after GBM ionizing radiation (IR).

Cerium vanadate/modified bentonite (CeVO/mbt) nanocomposite with different composition percentages was synthesized through a simple one-step hydrothermal method at 180 ℃, and then its photocatalytic activity was evaluated by decolorizing methylene blue (MB) in an aqueous solution under light exposure. In order to increase the surface area as an important parameter in photocatalytic processes, bentonite was modified by ball mill method. The structural and optical properties of the synthesized composites were determined by XRD, FT-IR, DRS, FESEM, EDS, and BET measurements.

Compromises between enhanced on-targeting reactivity and precise real-time monitoring in the tumor microenvironment (TME) are the main roadblocks for catalytic cancer therapy. The hallmark of a high level of hydrogen peroxide (HO) and acidic extracellular environment of the hypoxia solid tumor can underpin therapeutic and tracking performance. Herein, this work provides an activatable wintersweet-like nanohybrid consisting of titanium (Ti) doped cerium vanadate nanorods with the modification of polypyrrole (PPy) nanoparticles (CeVO-Ti@PPy) for combinatorial therapies of breast carcinoma.
