The eStandards methodology stressed the importance of trust and flow for health data as a key characteristic of well-functioning health systems. A digital health compass, leveraging perspectives of health systems, digital health markets, citizens, and workforce, drives a process of co-creation, governance and alignment in eStandards. A repository of best practices and common components further advances interoperability, as new projects add their experience. This paper proposes a governance framework for requirements management, intelligence gathering, specification use, and updates to promote sustainable governance for International Patient Summaries. It is based on interviews of 14 patient summary projects and initiatives in Europe and the United States.

Feminist debates on how the state incorporates and reshapes feminist categories of violence reveal unintended consequences, such as the depoliticization of these ideas. Through a case study of the Feminicídio Law in Brazil, I examine feminist writings on , following its state incorporation as a criminal category, to address the killing of women based on gendered reasons. Drawing on materialist feminist discourse analysis, I challenge the notion that institutionalization necessarily leads to depoliticization.

This article explores two questions: (1) whether portable MRI research might escape regulatory oversight altogether under existing U.S. privacy and research ethical frameworks, leaving research participants without adequate protections, and (2) whether existing regulatory frameworks, when they do apply, can guard society's broader interest in ensuring that portable MRI research pursues socially beneficial, ethically sound aims that minimize the potential for externalities affecting nonparticipating individuals and groups, who might be stigmatized or otherwise harmed even if they decline participation in the research.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by memory loss and neuropsychiatric symptoms associated with cerebral amyloid-β (Aβ) and tau pathologies, but whether and how these factors differentially disrupt neural circuits remains unclear. Here, we investigated the vulnerability of memory and emotional circuits to Aβ and tau pathologies in mice expressing mutant human amyloid precursor protein (APP), Tau or both APP/Tau in excitatory neurons. APP/Tau mice develop age- and sex-dependent Aβ and phosphorylated tau pathologies, the latter exacerbated at early stages, in vulnerable brain regions.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) interventions in interrupting transmission have paid heavy losses politically and economically. The Chinese government has replaced scaling up testing with monitoring focus groups and randomly supervising sampling, encouraging scientific research on the COVID-19 transmission curve to be confirmed by constructing epidemiological models, which include statistical models, computer simulations, mathematical illustrations of the pathogen and its effects, and several other methodologies. Although predicting and forecasting the propagation of COVID-19 are valuable, they nevertheless present an enormous challenge.
