The spectral and the photophysical properties of phthalocyanines have made these dyes attractive for applications in photodynamic therapy of cancer. One important known issue of these compounds is their tendency to aggregate in aqueous media, which decreases their fluorescence, triplet, and singlet oxygen quantum yields. We report on the use of apomyoglobin as a carrier for zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) to overcome solubility limitations of the dye. We show that the protein is able to bind ZnPc in monomeric form, preserving its photophysics. Confocal fluorescence imaging of PC3 and HeLa cells, treated with the complex between ZnPc and apomyoglobin, demonstrates that the photosensitizer is uptaken quickly by cells. Illumination of treated cells strongly decreases viability, as demonstrated by live/dead fluorescence assay.

This study introduces a novel approach to enhance the antibacterial properties of UIO-66 by incorporating both Thymol and ZnO nanoparticles within its framework which represents a significant advancement like exhibiting a synergistic antibacterial effect, providing a prolonged and controlled release, and mitigating cytotoxicity associated with the release of free ZnO nanoparticles by combining these two antimicrobial agents within a single, well-defined metal-organic framework. UIO-66 frameworks are investigated as carriers for the natural antimicrobial agent, Thymol, and ZnONPs offering a novel drug delivery system for antibacterial applications. Results demonstrated 132, 90, 184, and 223 nm sizes for UIO-66, ZnONPs, UIO-66 encapsulated Thymol, and UIO-66 encapsulated both Thymol and ZnONPs, respectively.

A soda lime glass substrate is used for fabricating CuZnSnS (CZTS) thin films using copper (II) sulfide (CuS), zinc sulfide (ZnS), and tin sulfide (SnS) targets using an advanced co-sputtering deposition process. Following that, the films are annealed at 470 °C without sulfur (S). An algorithm based on the deposition rate of the previously specified targets set the co-sputtering condition, which maintains a deposition pressure of 5, 10, 15, and 20 mTorr.

NH-Modulated Cathodic Interfacial Spatial Charge Redistribution for High-Performance Dual-Ion Capacitors.

Nanomicro Lett

Compared with Zn, the current mainly reported charge carrier for zinc hybrid capacitors, small-hydrated-sized and light-weight NH is expected as a better one to mediate cathodic interfacial electrochemical behaviors, yet has not been unraveled. Here we propose an NH-modulated cationic solvation strategy to optimize cathodic spatial charge distribution and achieve dynamic Zn/NH co-storage for boosting Zinc hybrid capacitors. Owing to the hierarchical cationic solvated structure in hybrid Zn(CFSO)-NHCFSO electrolyte, high-reactive Zn and small-hydrate-sized NH(HO) induce cathodic interfacial Helmholtz plane reconfiguration, thus effectively enhancing the spatial charge density to activate 20% capacity enhancement.

Different application domains impose diverse and often conflicting requirements on the optoelectronic performance of metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) thin-film transistors (TFTs). These varying demands present substantial challenges in the selection of TFT materials and the optimization of device performance. This study begins by examining three primary application areas for TFTs: display drivers, photodetectors, and optoelectronic synapses.

Annealing Study on Praseodymium-Doped Indium Zinc Oxide Thin-Film Transistors and Fabrication of Flexible Devices.

Micromachines (Basel)

Guangdong Basic Research Center of Excellence for Energy & Information Polymer Materials, State Key Laboratory of Luminescent Materials and Devices, School of Materials Sciences and Engineering, South China University of Technology, Guangzhou 510640, China.

The praseodymium-doped indium zinc oxide (PrIZO) thin-film transistor (TFT) is promising for applications in flat-panel displays, due to its high carrier mobility and stability. Nevertheless, there are few studies on the mechanism of annealing on PrIZO films and the fabrication of flexible devices. In this work, we first optimized the annealing-process parameters on the glass substrate.
