The physical interaction of the human growth factor receptor-bound protein 14 (hGrb14) and the insulin receptor (IR) represses insulin signaling. With respect to the recruiting mechanism of hGrb14 to IR respond to insulin stimulus, our previous reports have suggested that phosphorylation of Ser , Ser , and Ser in hGrb14 by glycogen synthase kinase-3 repressed hGrb14-IR complex formation. In this study, we investigated phosphatase-mediated dephosphorylation of the hGrb14 phosphoserine residues. An in vitro phosphatase assay with hGrb14-derived synthetic phosphopeptides suggested that protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) is involved in the dephosphorylation of Ser and Ser . Furthermore, coimmunoprecipitation experiments suggested that insulin-induced hGrb14-IR complex formation was repressed by the substitution of Ser or Ser with glutamic acid. These findings suggested that phosphate groups on Ser and Ser in hGrb14 are dephosphorylated by PP1, and the dephosphorylation facilitates hGrb14-IR complex formation.

Purpose: To determine whether imaging features derived from fundus photographs contain 3D eye shape information beyond that available from spherical equivalent refraction (SER).
Methods: We analysed 99 eyes of 68 normal adults in the UK Biobank. An ellipsoid was fitted to the entire volume of each posterior eye (vitreous chamber without the lens)-segmented from magnetic resonance imaging of the brain.

This work aimed to elucidate the deterioration mechanisms of shrimp surimi gels during refrigerated storage, and the regulatory mechanisms of epigallocatechin-3-gallate loaded cyclodextrin-based metal-organic framework (EGCG@CD-MOF) as a model antioxidant. Labele-free proteomics provided a quantitative analysis of the differential proteomic signatures of degraded proteins. Structural proteins, like myosin, paramyosin, titin, laminin, and α-actinin, along with calcium regulatory proteins, like calcineurin and sarcoplasmic calcium-binding protein were found to be highly susceptible to oxidative degradation during refrigeration.

Objective: To analyse work participation among patients with inflammatory rheumatic musculoskeletal diseases (iRMDs), namely rheumatoid arthritis (RA), axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis (SSc) and ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV).
Methods: A cross-sectional sample of 16 421 patients from the National Database of the German Collaborative Arthritis Centers, aged <65 years were analysed. For each diagnosis, yearly rates of absenteeism, employment and disability pensions were analysed from 2010 to 2022.

Human CblC catalyzes the indispensable processing of dietary vitamin B by the removal of its β-axial ligand and an either one- or two-electron reduction of its cobalt center to yield cob(II)alamin and cob(I)alamin, respectively. Human CblC possesses five cysteine residues of an unknown function. We hypothesized that Cys149, conserved in mammals, tunes the CblC reactivity.
