() is the causative agent of gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, mucosa associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma and gastric cancer (GC). While this bacterium infects 50% of the world's population, in Africa its prevalence reach as high as 80% as the infection is acquired during childhood. Risk factors for acquisition have been reported to be mainly due to overcrowding, to have infected siblings or parent and to unsafe water sources. Despite this high prevalence there still does not exist an African guideline, equivalent to the Maastricht V/Florence Consensus Report of the European Helicobacter and Microbiota Study Group for the management of this infection. In this continent, although there is a paucity of epidemiologic data, a contrast between the high prevalence of infection and the low incidence of GC has been reported. This phenomenon is the so-called "African Enigma" and it has been hypothesized that it could be explained by environmental, dietary and genetic factors. A heterogeneity of data both on diagnosis and on therapy have been published. In this context, it is evident that in several African countries the increasing rate of bacterial resistance, mainly to metronidazole and clarithromycin, requires continental guidelines to recommend the appropriate management of . The aim of this manuscript is to review current literature on infection in Africa, in terms of prevalence, risk factors, impact on human health, treatment and challenges encountered so as to proffer possible solutions to reduce transmission in this continent.

Despite the accuracy and robustness attained in the field of object tracking, algorithms based on Siamese neural networks often over-rely on information from the initial frame, neglecting necessary updates to the template; furthermore, in prolonged tracking situations, such methodologies encounter challenges in efficiently addressing issues such as complete occlusion or instances where the target exits the frame. To tackle these issues, this study enhances the SiamRPN algorithm by integrating the convolutional block attention module (CBAM), which enhances spatial channel attention. Additionally, it integrates the kernelized correlation filters (KCFs) for enhanced feature template representation.

Low-performing GPS receivers, often used in challenging scenarios such as attitude maneuver and attitude rotation, are frequently encountered for micro-nano satellites. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a modified robust adaptive hierarchical filtering algorithm (named IARKF). This algorithm leverages robust adaptive filtering to dynamically adjust the distribution of innovation vectors and employs a fading memory weighted method to estimate measurement noise in real time, thereby enhancing the filter's adaptability to dynamic environments.

Women diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) face a significantly heightened risk of developing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) later in life. Breastfeeding (BF) has been identified as a potential strategy to delay or prevent T2DM; however, women with GDM often encounter barriers in initiating and maintaining adequate BF practices compared to those with uncomplicated pregnancies. This paradox prompts an exploration into the causes of these BF challenges and considers the possibility of reverse causation: Does prolonged and intensive BF mitigate the risk of subsequent glucose dysregulation and T2DM? Alternatively, do women with compromised insulin secretion and sensitivity, who are predisposed to T2DM, struggle to sustain intensive BF practices? This narrative review aims to explore the interplay between GDM, BF, and T2DM development by examining the different factors that present BF challenges among women with GDM.

Liver cancer treatment encounters considerable therapeutic challenges, especially because hypoxic microenvironments markedly reduce sensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents. TFAM (mitochondrial transcription factor A) plays a crucial role in maintaining mitochondrial function. Oroxylin A (OA), a flavonoid with potential therapeutic properties, demonstrated prospects in cancer treatment.

Voltage reference circuits are a basic building block in most integrated microsystems, covering a wide spectrum of applications. Hence, they constitute a subject of great interest for the entire microelectronics community. MOSFET-based solutions, in particular, have emerged as the implementation of choice for realizing voltage reference circuits, given the supply voltage scaling and the ever-lower power consumption specifications in various applications.
