Although the pediatric eye examination can be made more challenging by inattention, poor cooperation, sleep, or just the wiggles, these should never be justification for an inadequate assessment of the child. In fact, a challenging patient should make the examiner ever more careful to get a good history and to look carefully for potential red flags that should be examined in greater detail. Missing a history of diplopia, or not noticing an abnormal pupil, or blurred disc margins, to name a few, may delay the diagnosis and treatment of potentially life-threatening entities. In this symposium, red flags in the pediatric eye examination will be reviewed in depth with emphasis on diagnosis, testing, and referral.

Background And Aims: Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) is difficult to distinguish from mimicking disorders, with misdiagnosis resulting in IVIG overutilization. We evaluate a clinical-electrophysiological model to facilitate CIDP versus mimic neuropathy prediction.
Methods: Using the European Academy of Neurology/Peripheral Nerve Society (EAN/PNS) 2021 CIDP guidelines we derived 26 clinical and 144 nerve conduction variables.

Objective: Many people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) experience fatigue, pain and faecal incontinence that some feel are inadequately addressed. It is unknown how many have potentially reversible medical issues underlying these symptoms.
Methods: We conducted a study testing the feasibility of a patient-reported symptom checklist and nurse-administered management algorithm ('Optimise') to manage common medical causes of IBD-related fatigue, pain and faecal incontinence.
