Purpose: Patients with vanishing white matter (VWM) experience unremitting chronic neurological decline and stress-provoked episodes of rapid, partially reversible decline. Cerebral white matter abnormalities are progressive, without improvement, and are therefore unlikely to be related to the episodes. We determined which radiological findings are related to episodic decline.

Hippocampal place cells support reward-related spatial memories by forming a cognitive map that over-represents reward locations. The strength of these memories is modulated by the extent of reward expectation during encoding. However, the circuit mechanisms underlying this modulation are unclear.

Methods: From December 2018 to December 2020, 15 patients with recurrent syringomyelia following posterior fossa decompression had FVSS surgery. Before and after the procedure, the clinical and imaging data of these individuals were retrospectively examined.

Ornidazole-induced encephalopathy (OIE) is seldom seen in the clinic. In this study, we report a new case of a patient who had taken 1,000 mg ornidazole daily for nearly 4 years because of suspected diarrhea and proctitis and presented with subacute symptoms such as unsteady gait, slurred speech, and psychiatric disorder. These symptoms were significantly relieved 3 days after the patient stopped taking ornidazole.

Introduction: Parkinson's Disease (PD) presentations comprise frequent movement disorders in the elderly with various symptoms consisting of motor and non-motor complications. Paeonol is a phenolic chemical agent that has shown antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects in different disorders and promising effects on metabotropic glutamate receptors (mGluR)- and GABAA-mediated neurotransmission. In this research, we tried to show the neuroprotective potential of paeonol in rat PD model induced by intrastriatal 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA).
