We report high room-temperature mobility in single-layer graphene grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) after wet transfer on SiO and hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) encapsulation. By removing contaminations, trapped at the interfaces between single-crystal graphene and hBN, we achieve mobilities up to ∼70000 cm V s at room temperature and ∼120 000 cm V s at 9K. These are more than twice those of previous wet-transferred graphene and comparable to samples prepared by dry transfer. We also investigate the combined approach of thermal annealing and encapsulation in polycrystalline graphene, achieving room-temperature mobilities of ∼30 000 cm V s. These results show that, with appropriate encapsulation and cleaning, room-temperature mobilities well above 10 000 cm V s can be obtained in samples grown by CVD and transferred using a conventional, easily scalable PMMA-based wet approach.

Pollen traps, the current gold standard to determine pollen load and thereby the allergy season, are not sufficient to determine the allergenic risk. Therefore, the establishment of highly sensitive assays for allergen measurement is of highest interest. Herein, a graphene field-effect transistor (GFET) was constructed on an interdigitated electrodes chip to develop an immersible biosensor, which was used to detect the major birch pollen allergen Bet v 1.

Transferred graphene provides a promising III-nitride semiconductor epitaxial platform for fabricating multifunctional devices beyond the limitation of conventional substrates. Despite its tremendous fundamental and technological importance, it remains an open question on which kind of epitaxy is preferred for single-crystal III-nitrides. Popular answers to this include the remote epitaxy where the III-nitride/graphene interface is coupled by nonchemical bonds, and the quasi-van der Waals epitaxy (quasi-vdWe) where the interface is mainly coupled by covalent bonds.

Solution-processed few-layer graphene flakes, dispensed to rotating and sliding contacts via liquid dispersions, are gaining increasing attention as friction modifiers to achieve low friction and wear at technologically relevant interfaces. Vanishing friction states, i.e.

Graphene is a promising candidate used to reduce friction and wear in micro- and nano-device applications owing to its superior mechanical robustness and intrinsic lubrication properties. Herein, we report the frictional and wear resistance properties of a graphene-coated polymer and how they are affected by fabrication processes. The results show that graphene deposited on a polymer substrate effectively improves both frictional and wear resistance properties, and the degree of improvement significantly depends on the graphene transfer method and interfacial adhesion between graphene and the substrate.

Magnetic field-driven insulating states in graphene are associated with samples of very high quality. Here, this state is shown to exist in monolayer graphene grown by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and wet transferred on AlO without encapsulation with hexagonal boron nitride (-BN) or other specialized fabrication techniques associated with superior devices. Two-terminal measurements are performed at low temperature using a GaAs-based multiplexer.
