Primary laryngeal carcinosarcoma is a rare type of malignancies, and the standard therapeutic protocol for its treatment has yet to be established. This retrospective study analyzed the clinical and pathological characteristics, risk factors, treatment options, and prognosis of 13 patients with primary laryngeal carcinosarcomas. This case series included 11 males and 2 females with an age range from 32 to 78 years at diagnosis. The initial clinical symptoms included hoarseness, dyspnea, and foreign body sensation in the throat. The primary tumor sites were at the glottis, supraglottis, and larynx. All these patients were active or passive smokers, and more than half of them were alcohol addictive. The surgical treatment for laryngeal carcinosarcomas included CO2 laser surgery in seven cases, partial laryngectomy and neck dissection in three cases, and total laryngectomy and neck dissection in three cases. Among them, seven cases received postoperative radiotherapy. After follow-up with a mean of 31.15-month, four cases died. Primary laryngeal carcinosarcoma is a rare but more aggressive malignancy. Contralateral lymph node metastasis can occur at the early stage of this disease. A treatment combining surgery and postoperative radiotherapy is strongly recommended.

Introduction And Importance: Laryngeal Spindle Cell Carcinoma (SpCC), a rare subtype constituting only 0.5% of cases, poses diagnostic challenges due to its biphasic nature and histological resemblance to other neoplasms. Our study explores unique observations, including monoclonal epithelial origin and an unusually large tumor triggering respiratory distress.

Introduction: Spindle cell carcinoma (SCC), also called sarcomatoid carcinoma or carcinosarcoma, represents a rare variant of squamous cell carcinoma that may involve multiple organs, including the larynx. It is a mixed tumor, composed of both malignant epithelial and mesenchymal elements. As the larynx appears to be an unusual site, we report a case of treated SCC laryngeal as well as a literature review of such tumor.

Mesonephric-like adenocarcinoma (MLA) of the endometrium shows a variety of morphologic appearances, including small glands, tubules with eosinophilic materials in the lumen, prominent papillary patterns, spindled cells, solid formations, and corded and hyalinized patterns. Unique morphology, characteristic immunohistochemical staining patterns, molecular alterations, and awareness of the pathologists make it possible to identify this tumor accurately. This report of two additional morphologic patterns, intestinal goblet cells mimicking intestinal-type mucinous carcinoma and squamous differentiation with spindle and epithelioid cells mimicking carcinosarcoma of the endometrium will expand the literature on MLA.

Introduction And Importance: The most common benign neoplasm of major and minor salivary glands is pleomorphic adenoma (PA). Around 80 % of all parotid neoplasms are pleomorphic adenomas, while 44-68 % and 38-43 % tumors were pleomorphic adenomas of submandibular and minor salivary gland tumors. PA has been reported in a variety of anatomic locations including true intraosseous mandibular tumor, external ear canal, TMJ region, lacrimal gland, epiglottis, larynx and nasopharynx, breast, lung, esophagus, sinonasal and skull base and trachea.
