[Implementation of New Flexible and Integrative Psychiatric Care Models (According to §64b SGB V) in Rural Northern Germany in Comparison to Federal Territory]. | LitMetric
Aim: New treatment models (according to §64b German Social Code) have been introduced in Germany to improve flexible and integrated forms of psychiatric care. The aim of this study was to analyse the specific conditions under which many of these models have been implemented in the federal state of Schleswig-Holstein (SH) in comparison to other federal regions.
Methods: A standardized survey reached 383 patients in seven psychiatric departments, among them three departments in SH. In addition, routine data and data evaluating the grade of implementation in these departments were analysed.
Results: Departments in SH showed more developed implementation processes, compared with departments in other regions. Implemented changes were perceived and evaluated as being better by patients in SH.
Conclusions: Implementation processes of flexible and integrated forms of care according to §64b were particularly successful in SH. Extensive political support is discussed as a major reason, among others, for this development.
Can the fraught relation between disability and aging ever become untangled? What is the place of the catastrophically disabled in a time when giving voice and being seen are significant lodestars of political activism? And what becomes of the caregivers, who often labor in silence, and who hope to work well enough just to get through another day? This essay draws on the memoirs of Simone de Beauvoir, Annie Ernaux, Amy Bloom, and my own experiences to show the complicated imbrications of age, disability, and caretaking. I attempt to demonstrate through these experiences that age and disability, which appear to be intimately woven together, are oftentimes misleadingly connected. I suggest that an ethic of vulnerability, rather, is a more useful heuristic that avoids collapsing the categories of age and disability together.
Background: Previous economic evidence about interventions for schizophrenia is outdated, non-transparent and/or limited to a specific clinical context.
Aims: We developed a discrete event simulation (DES) model for estimating the cost-effectiveness of interventions in schizophrenia in the UK.
Method: The DES model was developed based on the structure of previous models, populated with demographic, clinical and cost data from the UK, and antipsychotics' effects from recent network meta-analyses.

Introduction: In order to minimise physical interaction during the COVID-19 pandemic, telepsychiatry became a key part of clinical practice for many psychiatrists.
Methods: This study involved an exploratory, cross-sectional, opt-in online survey circulated to non-consultant doctors in psychiatry working in Ireland. It assessed experience and attitudes in relation to telepsychiatry use.
